Soverel's KQ hand vs Addamo 63 really is a brain blender, Soverel figures that Addamo will be applying maximum ICM pressure on the 2nd stack here with his strong draws. Critically, Soverel blocks neither the spade nor the diamond draw combos with his KcQh, so Addamo has so many bluffs here. And Addamo is a class player, he shoves for value here because he knows that he's doing a lot of bluffing in this spot. Soverel gets it in bad but then sucks out, well, that's poker.

Love all the pros in the live chat saying KQ is a bad call. If anyone knows Addamo’s play style then you know it’s highly possible he makes that play with a lot of different hands for a lot of different reasons. The commentators even told you why he would make that same bet semi bluffing. These guys play high rollers as a profession but the live chat knows best 😂😂
@ShredCo
@ShredCo 3 жыл бұрын
The hand is reasonable however, the ICM implications make the call a bad one, no matter how many possible hands you may be beating. Even if Soveral is ahead, Addamo has loads of outs and the table dynamic has huge ICM implications.

@@ShredCo I agree with you 100% but also not everyone plays based off ICM. Also Soverel might also be thinking if he wants to win the tournament that could be his best chance at chopping Addamo down and put him in the best position to win. I know me personally if I was already as wealthy and fortunate to be in the position these guys are in I’m always going to go for the win.
@ShredCo

@@j0eYzZ Yeah, people don't play based on ICM and that is one of the biggest errors made in late stage tournament play by amateurs. In these huge buy-in events, ICM considerations are absolutely paramount and the top pro's are almost always acting in accordance. That is why this hand is a mistake, the fact that he was behind was not the mistake. These people have backers, you need to make profit for them too, just punting to go for the win is amateurish.

Literal suicide by Soverel here, absolute suicide. Yes he has a fairly decent range advantage here, unfortunately, when you decide to extract what can only be described as fairly thin value on the turn, you then open yourself up to check shoves by combo draws, not to mention A3,Q3,33, Q6s 63s possibly A6s and 66 (although id expect addamo to raise that give stack sizes), which running the numbers is not even close to a call with KQo. even putting in a random 45 offsuit its still not even close. Very surprised he called here, with ICM its literally giving away 100s of thousands of dollars.

Why would Kevin Rabichow fold 22 and 33 on the btn for less then 20bb according to Sam. The range that calls in the sb or bb makes 22-55 the exact same strength if you choose to rip all in. However you might just do it with some frequency because of icm but then it still doesn't matter whether you have 22 or 55

These are high rollers. Couple of reasons depending on who your talking about: 1. They might not have full pieces of themselves. 2. Pros might think it's bad form to celebrate. Kind off like in some profession it's bad form to fist bump and jump up and down with your coworkers when you get a payraise. Yes I know this isnt true for most profession but as a poker player you are actively taking money from others. Pros generally hold a different decorum then the amateurs. 3. They have already won millions. 4. Some people dont play for the money. They play for the joy of poker. 5. Most of these players like adamo and limitless play for millions of dollars every day from wake to sleep. Limitless (Wiktor Malinowski) is famous for playing till 5 am. Kind off ties in to point 4. 5. I have a deep suspicion that several of the great poker/chess players are autistic and are more like mathematicians and physicists than people think. It explains a lot of their eccentricities. No, I am not calling anyone on this table autistic. I have my suspicions and let's leave it at that. I understand these dont make for prime time poker where like in the ME (high variance) where amateurs are more likely to make it to the FT. Though I have to say I havent watched the ME in a long time. So I dont know if its changed.
