Great interview, learning more everyday 😁 I have one burning question, does adding text or puns to a graphic/illustration design actually have a significant impact on sales or is it just additive with not much different results ?

I have really been loving Chat GPT’s , my favorite is design in style. Most recently I found that Dalle can take two separate images and combine their styles and components to make a whole new style. My advice for new designers would be to do like I did, and ask Ai for a list of the different design styles. I have found some styles I didn’t even know about.

Great interview by two of my favorite POD tubers. Both of you give honest information and not videos related to affiliate sales. I don't mind buying applications through your links because of your honesty. Juno drives me crazy with his awesome creativity doing his "Design With Detour" and where's Milo?

Another POD tuber, I forget who, created a video about keeping the style of your Dal-e-3 images constant. He says that when Dal-e-3 gives you an image you like, you ask AI what the “gen_id” of the image is. After the AI gives you the gen_id code, you keep asking the AI to give you images “ in the style of xxxxxxxxxxxx (the gen_id code).”
@PhilipAnders
@PhilipAnders 5 ай бұрын
@@CatInOrbit I once made a video like that but I think they changed it and don't let you use the gen_id anymore

@@PhilipAnders it depends which AI you’re using, and its mood at the time. I’ve had Merch on Demand by Podly refuse to give it to me in the past, and then give it to me a couple of days ago. But most AI will still give it to you. Just a second ago I went to sticker wiz and asked for the gen_id of an image I created a week ago and it gave it to me.

Maybe I missed this, but... On Tier 10, it's not possible to put up 100 designs at the beginning. Should I wait a certain amount of time, and if a design doesn't sell, delete it and try another one?

I was thinking about the mug situation on Amazon and how great that would be (plus tumblers and hats), and it occurred to me that maybe part of the hold up is because at the massive scale Amod operates, it would require them buying a 💩-ton of mug presses and for hats, special hat presses. Maybe they just don't want to make that kind of monetary and space investment. Obviously, I have no clue, but this might be one reason why it's taking them so long to add these pretty popular things. 🤷‍♀

One thing that isn't clear is the fact that you say you choose a "niche" but then among your designs there isn't a well-defined "niche", I don't understand if choosing a "niche" is only advantageous to everyone start by making the algorithm notice you by always using the same tags and only then adding designs that are "catchy and trendy" even if they are not in line with your "niche"
@MaryHardymsmary_h
@MaryHardymsmary_h 4 ай бұрын
I think you would need to look at his sites to see what niche he is using. KZbin I feel is for more general (teaching) style just to get you started, see what is available. I hope you understand what I am trying to say here.

Great discussion! Please do more! Philip can you comment on designs made with ChatGPT, when I create an image with AI do I own the copyright? Or can anyone steal it and use it? Thanks.
@PhilipAnders
@PhilipAnders 5 ай бұрын
People can and will always steal designs, even if they're not allowed to. Ai art has no copyright so they are technically allowed to do so. However if you make it your own (like in the design with detour examples Juna posts) then copyright applies as it's your own design.

What platform would you sell on for left wing political shirts? I think Etsy is just for suburban wine moms. Problem with Amazon is you can’t build a brand and you have no control over print provider. My current print provider doesn’t use DTG. I don’t like the quality of DTG, which is a consideration if building a brand.

I don't get all the excitement about AI. It's not a "tool", it's an artist replacement. Good luck competing with computers mass producing billions of graphics. So silly.
