How bad is the noise cancellation compared to the original airpods pro etc? Is it at a level that makes it difficult to listen to music or the radio while traveling on a train or bus for example?

Not at all. I don’t know why you’ve got the idea that it’s bad. It just doesn’t cancel out as much noise as the real AirPods Pro 2 because they do such a good job. The reps are about 70-80% as good depending on who you ask. This makes your music much more audible on public commutes.

Is there away to tell these apart from the real ones? (except the ANC and sound quality) One difference I know is that for the real ones, you can’t turn on ANC unless they’re on your head. For the replicas, you can turn ANC on even when they’re not on your head…

Likely the buttons, ANC (he’s responded positively to every other comparison question except this which makes me think you’re correct) and overall build quality. He didn’t squeeze the headband. Fakes bend. Also firmware updates. Not as reliable though unless new update goes out.

They’re all selling vendors of more or less the same product, the biggest difference is customer service, shipping times and packaging. However, some say that HiCity is sourcing his from higher quality factories, I don’t know if this is true though.

It likely will over time. Had fake airpods and after many iOS updates they could not validate them as genuine. Leads me to believe Apple tests the fakes eventually.
