One massive design oversight Umidigi made is putting the shortcut key on the opposite side of the other buttons. With flat edges alike the Essential Phone you could set it in landscape on a desk for watching KZbin, but, with the shortcut key in the way you wouldn't be able to do that. It's one of those things that keeps me from moving on from my Essential PH-1

Last umidigi X, and S8pro I bought was bad speaker and WiFi disconnect issues (Wi-fi I believe is a router and Google stock software issue because same happens on other Google software).

Well its not $100 phone with Amazon its cost $199, still a good buy. Just like my old Huawei mate 20 lite, never heard of that Huawei brand before I bought it it work and did its basic thing. I'm willing to try this other the Umidigi brand also have never heard either but after watching your video reviewing this phone. I'm convince to give it a try and buy it. I'm hoping this one will give me better pictures, video, a bold better keyboard, easy to get familiar with it. What I like about it is the technology except Id prefer a snap dragon processor, the processor in this phone is descent ,the side finger recognition is a nice feature for 2021 phone's over all this phone rivals other that cost 10x more. I think I 'm getting a great deal. Lets give this phone a try!

👍 your hardware observation. One good camera preferable to the multi-nonsense so many do now. Thanks for reviewing call quality, many reviewers omit this. I have the Power3, very snappy all around and has been a great performer for 16 months now just the typical sound issues and call GUI blanking but reset fixed that. Noticed UMI updating more frequently lately, another 👍 improvement. Great review btw

Yes. The only thing that would make someone lean towards the A12 is Samsung has better warranty coverage. At least here in the United States. Other than that, this Umidigi looks, feels and should perform better.

Absolutely get rid of the thermometer and the macro lens. Bump up the memory to at least 6GB and if possible, bump up the megapixels of the rear camera a bunch.

This SoC can't utilize higher amounts of memory effectively. The amount of megapixels depends on the camera sensor. More MPs doesn't mean a better camera. Actually, since lighting becomes harder, for cheaper sensors it's probably the other way around.

I love Android. But I live in Europe and have prepaid data plan in Europe prepaid plans are 28 days long so they can charge you 13 times a year. I am sick and tired of resetting my Android data every 28 days. I will post this in every android phone revue I see untill Google puts a 28 day plan in the OS please like and share if you are in the same boat as me.

Stay away from Umidigi phones, I had mine for only 4 months. All of a sudden it will not pass the logo screen and the battery icon shows it dead. I have never let this phone die on me. I have done everything that I found on KZbin, nothing works. Now I'm trying to get my money back or replacement from the ebay seller, and he's stopped answering. I'm filing a complaint with ebay itself. Bottom line, all these phones have the same problem, garbage, do not get it.
