Very nice work, it's good to see classic cars that can be in daily use and still look so original. Love the analogue battery meter, it's in keeping with the original style. Excellent!

Restoration videos get a lot of views. People love to watch an old car being torn down and restored in 30 minutes. The videos you make are great. Seeing the car restored and converted in time lapse would be awesome.

I was on fb and saw an ad for a tesla vw bus exactly like this. I put a donation in for the auction but this is the model my dad was fixing up before he passed, the bank took it with his old house but I really loved this video, thank you.

This is gorgeous. I don't know why I feel the need to mention that, as a teen in 1974-75 I had a 1965 bus in green. I bought it for $600. That little bus took my friends and I on many fun filled adventures around Long Island and upstate New York. The stock look is the best look to my eye on these resto-mods, whether gasoline or electric. I'm looking forward to seeing many more iconic and stylish cars from the past being revived with electric power (which, by the way, will only really be "green" when we go New-Generation Nuclear for our electric power.)

Got a 66 Kombi with 50's camper kit in pretty fair shape actually. How much (roughly) for this level redo? Camper kit would stay with me I'll restore that and I would reinstall it after redo. I need a figure to see about shifting around a few things first is why I ask. Thank you in advance for your time. I do hope to hear from you...love the vid obviously, more importantly thank you for posting. Mike

Can you add solar panels along the roof (as big an area as possible) to assist/supplement the battery range?
nice but i miss the Engine sound i hope you can it play from a Musicbox
@whymedomino4 жыл бұрын
I get keeping the older look, but I would absolutely love it if someone did a roof rack solar panel. Maybe help with some of the charging while on the road.
@AR-zq9hq3 жыл бұрын
A solar panel that would take the entire roof would probably give 2-3 miles of range if it sat in the sun all day. So, kind of pointless.

Why don’t you mount the batteries under the floorpan? Seems like a perfect place to keep the weight down low.

Hey, I live in San Diego County! Me! I need that VW Bus! How much does it cost for a custom made?
@beltdrivetypea65344 жыл бұрын
Not saying I hate it, but a massive part of their character is the air cooled engine These things were mostly a hobby for enthusiast's, keeping an old air-cooled motor throbbing is something to be proud of, putting electric motors in them seems a strange idea, yeh you can argue the eco point but these aren't daily drivers, the sound of air-cooled motors and smell of long duration cams is the point in having one isn't it?

It’s definitely easy to imagine vehicles like this could be the wave of the not so distant future. It would be great to know if people have requisition one or two of them since you uploaded this video. My question is, could you hypothetically include autonomous propulsion systems that VW was exploring for the I D concept cars? I am asking as a disabled US citizen (legal blindness) that is barred from obtaining drivers documentation. My father who drove a microbus in the 60s mentioned that they were particularly hazardous because of the single layer of chassis between the driver seat and the open air. Is there a way of cushioning the inside? Listening to your channel introduction, my head went straight to Dan Aykroyd saying “switch me on“.
@bonnierodgers4 жыл бұрын
Re: autonomous driving and other modern-day safety features, Volkswagen has promised their I.D.Buzz model for 2022. Zelectric retrofits won't be including that option anytime soon, if ever.

Which means, the ID models are not gonna remain concept cars forever?

why no solar panels??? Do the battery needs more power to charge ?

Beautiful work. Love that people are restoring and converting old VW busses. I like everything about it… the one thing that is given up is the sound of the VW engine. But worth it.
@Mistr_A4 жыл бұрын
Beautiful but woeful range could they not add more batteries to it?
@Zelectric4 жыл бұрын
We build to order. A larger battery pack and greater range isn't a problem.
@Largamelion3 жыл бұрын
Well if they weren't so expensive and had more range I'd love one of those. Have to admit this van looks incredible. But the main reason I'd want one is to travel around through Europe. Unfortunately with this limited range this would mean I'd be spending the majority of my travel time at a charging station.
@MICHGO14 жыл бұрын
THE ANALOGUE FUEL GAGE LOOKS MUCH BETTER. WHY NOT PUT SOME MORE BATTERIES UNDER THE (LARGER) REAR SEAT?
@josephbrand38083 жыл бұрын

Canadians call deer whistles deer atractors lol they say they make all of the deer near the road panic and running all directions including across the road in front of your car. A Canadian friend of mine put them on his new car and within two weeks he hit a deer so he added two more deer whistles only weeks later he hit another deer and totaled the car. He was 50 had lived in Canada all his life and never hit a deer.

A company good do well making vintage VW bus replicas out of fiberglass, just like they do with Porsche Speedsters, etc. …and offer different drivetrains…I believe there is a large market for these…not to mention camper versions.
