🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

This again depends on where in the country you happen to be. Food trucks , depending on what they are serving will cost more or less. In the Southwest, it might be cheaper at the mexican food trucks. Watched Mark Wiens in Tuscon, and he had this huge burrito wrapped in bacon. The place he went to had these big Sonoran tortillas which they filled with meat, cheese tomatoes and fresh avocados with a drizzel of mayo.Wrap it up ,then wrap it with bacon and cook on the grill. That was $12.00 but worth it. He mentions beigents. Mexicans have sopapillos(maybe misspelled.) It means little pillows. These are square pieces of dough that are fried,. They are light and airy, not dense, and we like breaking them open and drizzeling them with honey. Some people put butter on them.

It's true that they tend to be more expensive but there is a positive side to it. Namely that most people that own food trucks are in it for the joy of cooking and not just dollars because unless you get super lucky and branch out you're never going to be rolling in cash operating a food truck so its a labor of love and thus much more likely to actually taste good. And another reason it tastes good is that many food trucks locally source instead of relying on frozen foods, this is also why the price is usually a little hard to swallow.

Yes but Vietnamese money value is way lower then the US dollar thus a lot of tourists might seem like it’s cheap. To me a Bowl of Pho or my personal favorite Bun Rieu is pretty affordable usually go for about 1.5 dollars which is a far price. Do have to say some of the food in this video is on the expensive side like 13 dollar for a burger…

@Dmon ! It will only be cheap in the perspective of wealthy tourists. Pricing is just an arbitrary number. You can't say something is cheap just because the price is low. Compared to the low income of the locals, it ceases to be cheap anymore. Perspective matters.

Then they handed it to you wrapped in a sheet of newspaper with a cup of pepper & tamarind sauce on the side for dipping. It was pure insanity, and I've dreamt about having another one ever since. 🤤
