100 Hours In Hardcore Minecraft: How'd I Survive This?!

100 Hours In Hardcore Minecraft is a new series where the objective is to survive in Minecraft 1.18 Hardcore mode for 100 hours without dying as we only have one life.
100HoursInMinecraftHardCore episode 2, we somehow survived the first 10 hours where we built our treehouse base. But today we make a mega upgrade to the survival base with a new treehouse, farms, and a mine. Also, escape death more times than I want to count and give Grian a tour of our base. You cant take fall damage while in a boat. (edit) I correct my statement. There is a bug in Minecraft Java Edition where if you fall 49 blocks in a boat the boat will break and you will take the fall damage. Not 48, not 50, not 256, not 49 and 1 sixteenth, not 48 and 15 sixteenths, just 49...

SCAR! I just thought you should know that hitting F3 + H turns on advanced tooltips and will show you the durability on your armor and tools so you know how many more hits your stuff can take :)

In case this hasn't been directly addressed yet (haven't seen the episode yet)... If you find enough powdered snow, then you could cover the floor under the base with it and put moss- and regular green carpets there for texturing. That way, you won't take fall-damage _if_ you fall off your base (regular carpets work, mossy-carpets _should_ work too)

Regarding most feared mob: I remember Etho going into his statistics in his LP world and seeing that he killed way more skeletons than any other mob... because they're very hard to ignore. You can run from zombies and creepers easily enough, but skeletons are so annoying that they have to be dealt with

they are a perfect combination for an overworld mob to kill you. common, ranged, smart enough to avoid sunlight, and will attack back if you snipe them just outside their agro range. runner up would likely be witches. but they are rarer and the thrown potions lack much range in terms of most dangerous overworld mob in general though though, i'd have to say the trident drowned. they are basically just stronger skeletons but much more rare (pathfind to basically anyone in water, and a stronger ranged attack, also wont leave water unless it's night). unless you're grian next to a massively deep river which makes them about as common as skeletons (the more he lights up those caves the more drowned are going to spawn in that river, he's causing his own problems XD)

I think it would be an interesting story if the buildings on the cliffside were built on land and then the landslide that made the ravine under you fell from under the houses. As a hardcore player, this video makes me shiver from all the close calls, I was thinking bad scar when he went into the dark cave on the boat because if there was a creeper hanging out on a ledge, it could have dropped down and instant exploded. A note of caution, ravines are to be avoided unless completely open to the surface, or you take one on from the top lighting it up first to stop the instant creeper of doom.

Hi Scar! Others may have pointed this out, but a couple of easy ways to fall-proof your base (without pouring water everywhere) are berry bushes and powdered snow. Both will eliminate fall damage from any height. Placing carpet over powdered snow will even prevent you from sinking into it or taking cold damage. :)

Scar, I just gotta say it. I'm so constantly blown away by your builds. They are always SO interesting, what with looking fantastic, having themes and stories behind them -- and even though they are mostly fantastical builds, you build them in a way that makes sense? Like, they seem structurally sound and are easy to read, I guess. Just, wow. Like, how do I convey this sentiment? You've got to be one of my favorite creatives on the internet. Bravo and kudos, Scar, I really really love the stuff that you do.
