Welcome to Yerevan, Armenia! This city in the heart of the Caucasus region, is the capital of Armenia. This mountainous country was the first in the world to adopt Christianity, and is well known for its prominent religious sites.

We’re diving into its ancient landmarks and modern way of life, from the ancient texts and manuscripts at the Matendaran museum, to the local vendors at Vernissage and Gum Market, to the stunning Cascade complex. Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, or just looking for an adventure, Yerevan has something for everyone.
We’re going to see how they make Armenian carpets at the Megerian Carpet Factory, and the process of making Armenian brandy at Ararat Brandy Factory. Then, we’re going on a road trip to nearby Etchmiadzin to explore Armenia’s religious roots, to a monastery in Geghard that once housed the Spear of Destiny, and to the pagan Temple of Garni.
And along the way, we’re getting a taste of mouthwatering Armenian cuisine, from flaky lavash to meaty basturma to sweet and decadent gata and so much more! So come with me to this incredible city that captured my heart and let’s dive into the culture and food of Yerevan, Armenia!

Hey David. What a pleasant surprise seeing this documentary in comparison to the last few ones. I have not seen the series, so this doc. was one that I enjoyed very much. All the food looked delicious. Nice try at making lavash but stick to your day job🤣🤣🤣. Too much wine though, so I skipped it over. Yerevan is a beautiful city with so much history and a lot to take in and understand. Still a bit puzzled about its culture and customs, but I will check it out. The people are really nice. Your hostesses were very well versed in all the information they gave. There is so much more to Yerevan to learn about. I did do a little research before watching this doc. So now I have to confess that my interest has been renewed and refreshed. Good one, David. You have been holding out on us with this one. I should also add, the historic churches, the landscape, mountains & architecture everywhere, plus the music & the gorgeous traditional dresswear/costumes etc;, is just stunning!! I hope & pray that the Armenian peoples & those from the Caucasus region, will always do their best to fully preserve their respectively unique cultures, because if ever lost, would be forever lost & that would be incredibly sad & heartbreaking.

Wow! Armenia is absolutely amazing & so culturally rich, vibrant, so historic & so very beautiful in many aspects. It's the beautiful looking, warm, wonderful, welcoming, friendly & very hospitable peoples of this country that totally steal the show! I yearn to visit next year & I will! The food, produce & many beverages, etc;, are just Wow!!!! So very delicious & yummy looking & I'm certain tasting too!! I personally love the fresh & dried fruit, all so fresh, delicious looking & organic. I love the cheeses, the delicious fresh herbs, juices, homemade/locally sourced & produced alcoholic beverages & so much more!! The mille feuille looked so yummy too! Fun fact for those who are unaware.....The French invented the mille feuille in 1651 & I've tried it both in France & Australia (made by a French couple) & both taste & texturally wise, were absolutely unforgettable/phenomenal!!! That was many years ago now, but is still a favourite of mine to date. Now I want to try Armenia's version. David, like Mark Wiens & others, are bringing the world to us, educating & enlightening us, which is just awesome!!! Thanks for sharing & here's wishing you more happy global travels. Peace✌

Your 100 hour in Yerevan was very happy & entertaining, I have not watched before any video for 3 hours but I watched yours with great pleasure, thank you. I just wanted to let you know that in Armenian alphabet they don't have the letter A' as Apple & probably none of those guides told you that, YEREVAN sounds like Yerevaun but all the time you pronounced it Yere-va'n which is wrong, I hope next time you go there 🇦🇲 you will pronounce it the correct way. ❤️💙🧡.😅
