Sinai Monastery, made in the 550's AD: definitely not a European white man, but definitely not an African either. I was raised in the Russian Orthodox Church. These are not images of African people. This is simply the style of the medieval Pskov school. They favored these bronzed skin hues in their iconography for purely stylistic reasons. I see this taken out of context all the time and used as propaganda about the controversial ‘Black Israelite’ movement. There is no connection here, I’m sorry. These saints depicted are from ancient Judea, Asia Minor, Byzantium, and Russia. The dark skin color is, as I said, simply a stylistic preference of this particular school of iconography.

@@Ok-yr1fm african heritage art has been altered/white washed on so many accounts, it'd be willfull ignorance to stick with your opinion. The most obvious example is white pharaohs in ancient Egypt, depicted in hollywood movies. Africans already travelled to the Americas, as well. Do your homework, and curb that delusional sense of superiority.
