Here is an explanation of their roles: を (wo) "を" comes before a verb to indicate what the verb acts upon. For example, in "パンをたべる", "パン" is the object of the eating action. It can also express the starting point, route, or passage. For example, "へやをでます". は (wa) "は" is a particle that introduces the subject of a sentence. For example, in "わたしはにほんじんです", the subject is "わたし", and the information given is "にほんじんです". に (ni) "に" has several uses, but it is commonly used to indicate places, times, or states. About place: In "がっこうにいく", "がっこうに" is the destination. About time: In "９じにはじまる", "９じに" shows when it starts. About state: In "つくえのうえにある", "つくえのうえに" shows where something is located.
