It remind me when I was a boy, I would frantically adjust the horizontal axis speed of a simple oscilloscope to watch the waveform. I am impressed that the scanning is achieved with a very simple circuit! Nowadays, everything is so highly functional that thinking about principles seems to be neglected, but I like you, believe that simple principles are important.

Way cool, this looks like it should be one of those beginners in electronics kits.

Love those square LEDs! PCB looks nice in black. Bet that would make a cool piece of guitar equipment.

Pretty stocked when I found the LED's available. They come in a few different colours as well.

Hi, those led's are cool and look like edible strawberry gummies ❤ Love the project !

Love this. It reminds me of the machines that would take your pulse at the leisure centre when I was a kid in the early 80s - the same aesthetic completely 😁 being a pedant, though, the LED trace is going right-to-left, not left-to-right (SORRY! I'M THAT GUY!)

would be pretty cool to be able to measure your pulse with this!

Excellent project for the budding Electronics Technician using discreet parts instead of a Micro Controller. You could have installed a 10 turn Horizontal pot to get better resolution.
@lonesoulsurfer2 жыл бұрын
cheers. with a 100 pixel screen - the resolution prob wouldn't get much better

@@lonesoulsurfer You misunderstood... I meant better Pot Setting resolution.
@lonesoulsurfer2 жыл бұрын
@@lasersbee oh right. We’ll if you mean a 10k pot instead then I think that may be too small. A 50k is 10% of the 500k one used so it’s a nice value to use to try and find the sweet spot

Nice project using classic ICs! You don't see this one in the old project books for 4017 and 3914. I am curious about your power supply, I don't see any regulators in the schematic. How do you prevent supply variations disrupting the 386 accuracy and 555 frequency?
@organicelectrics2 жыл бұрын
Just checked the instructable. Power supply variations probably aren't that big a deal. Thank you for sharing this build!

John is right - not too many power spikes. There us a 470uf cap to help smooth things out

What is it good for? Where can you set the trigger?
