I caught it. Started the game, read a forum that said I had to level to 200 as a sorc to play magic archer. I'm level 75 now. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! I'm going to switch to what I actually want to play as soon as I load it up.

Sorc is horrible for MA(only want levels 101-200) You want strider for 11-100 There is actually a mod on Nexus that does this so you can level MA the entire way without having to switch classes...

Hard doubles Stamina use and a pure sorc cant even cast rebalancer 4 times for the ~+120% magic damage increase without a pot. 180 base magic of sorc over strider ends up being like ~8% dps difference end game. To clear trash you cant afford to cast rebalancer 4 times constantly and so actually do less DPS and clear levels slower in BBI for a slightly faster BOSS kill time. Strider+sorc Magic archer with a 9 fold ring +magic rebalancer can kill Daemon in about 2-3 shots. about 6 seconds :P

@@givemeanameman1 Wrong, level 36 with pure sorc and can cast 4 with half stamina at least left. Weaving in powerful basic attacks, moreso when you're enchanted, does considerable damage and sometimes even out dpses your spells. Early on before you get the big boi magic bows, the value of having sorc stats really stands out, not to mention it will take 40-140 hours in before you get really powerful gear that offsets your stats, depends on if you rush or not. That said, play what you want, just use a mod if you want sorc stat growth without having to play a sorc.

@@SyperDT Try playing on hard, its where the game gets fun and where Stamina use is increased. I also have no idea what you are talking about basic attacks out DPS spells... You should be using melee/bow, not spells. There is no situation where using spells with MA is better then bow... Bow skills are not spells and they apply your base damage ontop of the skill. Unless a target is resistant to ice/holy/Lightning damage Three/six/nine fold, Seeker/Hunter, and Ricochet will always do more damage then basic attack even with enchantment because enchantments boost your magic power and change your damage type. These skills only change the damage type back, they still use the boosted magic attack power.

Sorry to ruin your parade guys but Dragons dogma 2 already came out it's Japan only Japan don't want to release it to any other country it came out a long time ago I think they shut it down because it wasn't getting that many sales there edits because they could had made more money by letting other country's buy it the only way to play it was if you had a Japanese account

There is so many times i've started this game just to leave it and come back later and repeat the process, because I read somewhere that you have to play majority of the game another vocation before touching the vocation you want to play. I was always obsessed with min-maxing, I never even considered playing the whole game as a class I actually wanted to play(lmao, I feel like an idiot now). If it helps, tests were done, and a minmaxed character kills the Ur Dragon only like 30 seconds faster or something. This game really encourages you playing your way.

Ugh i cant wait for dd 2 i rewatch your vids all the time lmao, this game had The BEST concept of combat in any rpg ive ever played, even with the somewhat glitchs mounting system and lack of story. the idea still is amazing and if they make a part 2 with the nex gen capabilities fixing climbing, and write a more detailed story with more cutscenes and depth. Its potential to be the best rpg ever is right there. (Hopefully co-op with friends instead of pawns optional too)

Hopefully you can customize all of the pawns in a party too, better with the option to have humans in the party, perhaps them being allowed to have hybrid vocations, but with the risk of actually dying, and needing a wake stone to come back. Better AI without a doubt would be amazing too. The customization for it was excellent, but difficult to understand, especially for newcomers. More skills and abilities per class too, since while there was more than enough, each class could be customized even further in much greater detail to greater augment the feeling of individuality. I dont think anyone would be against these kinds of added features, since they only expand on the game. And as Capcom will be charging full price for the game, we should be getting a quality product.

I haven’t played this game in quite some time... randomly skipped to around 4h 50mins and knew exactly where you were in bitterblack isle. Running through bitterblack isle with the *magick archer* using the *ricochet hunter* was so fun, using that with the *ninefold bolt* makes you pretty much unstoppable! Death was a pain, but managed to trap him in a corridor and spammed the *ricochet hunter* before he could disappear (again). I love this game so much! DD2 needs to be ‘risen’ already!

DF Rusted daggers are always great to keep on hand for the MA build. Hitting an enemy with Torpor makes your own charge times a lot more bearable.

@@mechamahou8467 After being upgraded in dragon fire (Dragonforging) they gain two status debuffs. Torpor (Slow) and Poison. They aren't great for causing damage but they're great for debuffing.

The only solo problem I have encountered was the Metal Golem in the Sparyard of Scant Mercy. I won't stoop to use Great Sacrifice so I just bring in my pawn as a melee character to progress. Did I miss something Nihil0.0? Also sorcerer has a problem with Death.

I did a pure magic Archer playthrough a few months back. The beginning was a bit dull at times (takes quite a while to get the second bow) but I enjoyed most of it. And at the end you still destroy everything effortlessly even without a single sorcerer level.

Oh yeah. I've done it 3 times. Just gotta keep your weapons up to date and everything falls in line. I usually farm the Goblins outside of Gran Soren with pawns in Hard Mode or the Birds and Rabits outside Cassardis solo in Hard Mode, or Goblins solo in Normal mode

For the Main game, you will need 200-300 attack for most smaller enemies. Then the next step up, 500-600. For Post Grigori, 800 would be good. Pre Daimon BBI 1200-1400 for most, and 1600 for the rest..... until the Dire Dragons and Daimon's second form, then you truly need 2200-2400 to make it balanced. If your values are higher than these at these stages then you will be more than fine. Augments will kick things up greatly, like Acuity and Clout. Augments are way more important than the stats difference between vocation leveling. For MK, the Perma Enchanted weapons will carry you through. Just keep them upgraded as you progress . Do you know, to go in the Witchwood you can enter by the exit... The first time I was just exploring and I entered by the 'normal' side. But now I only enter by the exit lol, even for the Quina quest (pass by the witchwood and exit and re entry to trigger the quest). It's so quick! I never gonna do all the road again to go in the Witchwood or exploring that side of the map.. I don't know for the other class, but with my sorcerer, with the flying thing, it's pretty easy to reach the spot to climb.

The MK skill Sky Rapture works, too. My trick as Warrior is to put a portcrystal on the ledge by the “exit”, after getting there normally. Most of what you need to do later in game is nearer to the exit. Especially if you want to keep a King Bay leaf stock for Selene brews.

My current character does the last 80 levels to patch up my magic defense and it's great fun. It doesn't feel like you can mess up magick Archer stats either since rebalancer gives you plenty of power for your bow and strength makes immolation quite powerful.

I have a mixed build going...I maxed out all ranged and magic vocations but I can't say what vacation I leveled as and when but with my MA at lvl 75 my magic is roughly 800 and strength is 750ish. I'm barely doing any damage.

I know you stated that you switch to hard mode to start a new game. Did you stay in hard mode this entire video? Sometimes it seems easier than what I'm experiencing, but it might just be my skill as a Magic Archer is horrible.

I think he did stay in hard mode. One of the goblins coughed up a giant coin purse only a few minutes in, which is a hard mode feature. Lots of random Giant Coin from the beginning.

Hey I have an important question I need answered I'm running MA Dagger skills: Immolation Magic rebalance Shadow shackle (Highest form, one with the band from BBI) Bow skills: Sixfold Explosive rivet Richochet arrow Should I switch explosive rivet with vortex trail and if so which dagger skill should I replace shadow shackle? Basically which is better the highest form of shadow shackle or vortex trail

Preference really. I would say ShadowShackle or ShadowSnair is better than Vortex, and Rivet is better than Vortex. But that's how I play MA, and you may be different

I just came across this video, still haven't finished it all cause I'm watching in intervals. But I have a more-than-likely-stupid question. Why does he keep getting batches on batches of drops, especially GGPs? (Not super concerned for Gold, but I found it cool that they keep dropping.) I've kept thinking he's playing on Hard Mode, but I could be wrong. And I am just starting to play after catching the DD bug, so I'm not fully knowledgeable on how the game works/can be "rigged" to work for "solo" play just yet.

Yeah he's playing on hard mode. Things drop gold in general and especially giant gold bags commonly. I think from a pack of undead I got like 4 giant bags. It's actually kinda insane how much gold you get in hard mode.

@@imperiumregalis4193 Barroch is in the DLC Bitter Black Isle. You can unlock the DLC by going to your purple marker in the map at night time. I can do multiple accounts on PC through steam, I'm not sure about the Switch

Stat growth is typically only 20%-25% of our total attack value. The stamina, health and defense values can and do matter though

I just rank vocations off camera, as it is simply boring watching me kill goblins for an hour or 2. Then after I rank my vocations, in this case Magic Archer, I restart the main questline in hard mode. You can reset the story by switching to hard mode, normal mode, hard mode

Can you recommend 2 augments a MA must have? I'm just starting the game and want to play as MA but don't want to spend the game playing different classes just to have an efficient build only for the game to be nearly finished. Thanks!

Acuity is super great for Magic Archer. Articulacy is fair, Attunement helps. You can ignore Warrior, Fighter, and Ranger. Mystic Knight mostly has augments that benefit pawns rather than Arisen. Predation is from BBI secret augments. Predation is great for Immolation players

First, go to BBI and suicide run for the 1st. Then select hard mode. This resets the game from the beginning. Suicide run to get ring 2.
