Back in the 1950's and early to mid 60's my great uncle and aunt owned a good portion of Brady's beach area, and they sold it to go and spend a couple of years living (I think...I was about 10 when I first met them in 68) and travelling in Australia and New Zealand (I never knew exactly where). They moved back to Bamfield in the mid 60's and lived there until my uncle passed away. I haven't been back into Bamfield in 35 or 40 years, but damn, it was so tiny, the roads were gravel, the road from Pt. Alberni was still ALL gravel as was the road in from Lake Cowichan. I think back then you could have bought the whole village for $5 or $6 hundred thousand...lol...
