Mike, you are right - that was an epic ride. Such great views, big skies and great weather. Gold Hill conquered (well done to all those who rode up it) and 100 miles in the bag. Definitely epic stuff. And now, a public service announcement - if you do not watch the Wheelers' videos in fullscreen mode, you should strip to your undercrackers, stand beside a busy road junction and beat yourself on the backside with a rolled up copy of Cycling Plus while singing The Pushbike song by the Mixtures as suitable penance. Ah now, I don't clip in, preferring mountain bike pedals, but if I were to, I know I'd unclip left first as it's the foot I naturally always put down when stopping. Great stuff!

👍😀 Cheers Mick, it was a fantastic day for sure. We shall look out for nutters singing nearly naked in the road on our future rides...

That ride was gorgeous. The villages, the church, the tree tunnels, everything. The greenbelt here along the Boise River is nice, but the areas that you ride are amazing. I'm seriously thinking about relocating - even if you all do ride on the wrong side of the roads. 😜

We certainly have some beautiful old buildings and quiet lanes, some of the lanes are so quiet you could ride on either side 😁

As a ‘right-footed’ person, I clip my left foot, so that my right is still in ready to pedal off again.

What a great video. I have attempted Gold Hill several times myself and managed it at least once, not easy. Left unclipping is the way, if you mess it up you fall away from traffic.... Good to have met you both the next day on the HGC ride, that had some pretty epic views as well (or should I say lovely?)

Stunning views along the way in this ride Mike and Julie. What is a little town called at 15:35 please? That cobbles climb must have been tricky thou. It looks pretty steep even in the camera. Great ride after all and greeting from Southampton.

How many days does it take to recover from a ride that long?

We are usually recovered pretty quick.👍 We both rode again on the Sunday in Winchester. 😀 Glutens for punishment! 🤣😁🤣 I have to say I was pretty hungry on Sunday though. 🍨🍰🥧🍫🍬🍭

I think most people unclip on the left because usually the pavement is there on the continent most people unclip on the right
@WheelersAtLarge Жыл бұрын
That would make sense. It's quite funny watching people unclip on the left in the forest only to find the road falls away, a little stumble moment but never any harm done...
