G'day Simon from the Central Coast in NSW. I want to write Jeepers Creepers, but you said it's spelt Geepers Creepers, s so I'll just say Crikey. Keep flying the Aussie flag high over there. I hope to get over there next year when things settle down. Also, hi to Claus, Care (? the other pro) Liam, Dave the Rave and Sky Sports Joe.

I love to see a fellow Aussie on your channel ! And he's from Kallangur, about 60km north of me.! What a champion - old style golf at its best. Simon's strategies, attitude and skills are awesome. And finally, a quality professional golfer, who doesn't believe in upgrading his clubs every 6 months just to keep up with the latest trends. I don't own a rangefinder, and my newest club is 7yo. Thankyou, Simon, I can relate to your game. Cheers mate!

Thanks Liam and Simon, Sunshine Coast person myself, so as I said last year, lovely to hear the Aussie accent. Read a great article last year by Geoff Ogilvie, discussing how much inventiveness and imagination he had lost after 20 years on the US tour compared to when he was a pennant player on off the track courses around Victoria, Australia. Old School Golf. I do like my range finder though, shows me exactly how far I am not hitting my clubs. Thanks again.

Spot on, once you have your set of clubs, practice and removing swing errors via lessons will gain you more than pouring money into buying equipment. Granted if you go from 20 handicap to low single figures at some stage you might want clubs that allow more shot shaping but I think many of us could use one set and go from 30 to edge of single figures

Its great to see i'm not the only one who plays "old school". I'm in my 70's, i play with 25 year old john Letters T3,s and have never considered spending a fortune to change them. I have never agreed with all these electronic gizmos, golf is a game of feel and judgement after all, i don,t recall the likes of Niklaus, Palmer and Trevino ever having to use any - and they were the worlds best.

Being 70 years old, Simon plays now the way I did as a young man. Of course, now I use a GPS, though not a range finder. My GPS is the kind that simply gives the front, middle and back yardages. That is enough for me. I still judge pitch shots by feel. Simon is really awesome. Hope there is a Dave vs Simon match coming up. Well done Liam.

From a S African subscriber, Simon is a great character with a huge personality, and a top golfer. Aussies and South Africans are very similar people, have the same weather conditions, and yes many of our greens (especially in warm weather areas) use paspalum grass! I love how often he says “Crikey” a typical Aussie 😀😀! Hope to see and learn from him again! Brilliant upload Liam! By the way, I have to mention that I really miss seeing the legendary Mr Barlow on Golf Mates, hope he’s keeping well!

Love the video. still playing same clubs since 1998. Ping B60 BeCu putter, which i soak in coke overnight once a fortnight. brings any Becu club up like new. still not using a range finder. so many cards at clubs have distances on the hole map and i also use Lee Westwoods idea of wringting my true distance for each club on the club. its all well and good using Simulators but you never get true distances. Simon is excellent at breaking down the mind management of how to play golf. far too many golfers overthink shots/holes. see the shot in your mind and commit to it. excellent content Liam. love the trips to UAE.
