Quand doit-on employer: me gusta o me encanta ?

@@wawa19951 When a Spanish speaker says “me gusta” it means he or she likes something but “me encanta” is a step further, meaning that the speaker REALLY likes something (or loves something - not in the romantic sense) - so “me gusta tu nuevo peinado” would translate as “I like your new hairstyle” but “me encanta tu nuevo peinado” would mean “I love your new hairstyle”. It’s just a question of emphasis. Encantarse (the infinitve) can be translated as “to be charmed by something/someone. That’s so much more than to like something/someone.
