Bag looks awesome, love the color. The only thing I wish it had was a Velcro strip to put patches on. Other than that, definitely looks like a solid bag.

A velcro strip would be cool. Note taken for future bags. That said some recycled materials are harder to source than others and keeping the bag 100% recycled is a main goal of Renu.

Can the side pockets take a hoodie / rain jacket ? Any place for retrievers / umbrella?

The side pockets are a similar to the V1, so a thick hoodie might be a stretch. However, a light hoodie or rain jacket fit without an issue. Retrievers/umbrellas can clip into the side clips and sit in the water bottle holders on either side. It might limit you to one water bottle, but I personally only ever carry one anyway.

How does it stand up ? The first version seemed floppy and easily tipped over . Is the stability better on this version ? Is it waterproof ?

The stability is not an issue anymore. The bag is waterproof and extra durable compared to the V1.
