"compared to the US or Canada", well don't forget that Oxford is in the UK with a size incomparable to the size of either of these countries, even though it's a #1 university... Thanks for the informative video, I really hope to get accepted next year! Btw I got accepted to the University of Michigan as an international student but my student visa got denied for not showing strong ties to my home country. I suppose a student visa to the UK would be much easier to get.

You have to understand Oxford is not a private university like most of the prestigious US universities. So, it’s obvious someone has to be a monster regarding grades and research experience for DPhil students. I was not eligible for Rhodes as I was elder than a 25 years old student. But if someone impresses the interviewers and supervisors really well with superb performance then off course they would get funding. I can talk about Brasenose and Trinity college. They support a lot if someone needs funding. Also the other colleges, I heard of. Moral of the story is one has to be the best regarding effort, rest happen automatically. Om ShivRamHanumate Namaha. USA and Canada universities have huge endowment funding. European universities tend to be free it was only recently that tuition fees were introduced in the uk otherwise a small tuition fee had to be paid. This was jacked up to 9000£ for English students while Scottish students don’t pay any fees. English students wanting to attend prestigious universities like Edinburgh, St Andrew’s or Glasgow must pay to study in Scotland however EU students could study free of charge in Scotland .

it's too expensive to pay because you study for more years than usual (3~4) so they could be paying for your studies for 6+ years which is not the defnition of cheap

I actually went to Oxford a couple of years ago. I remember one summer night in second year, I was at a party and there was this girl there who was really, really drunk. At one point she let out the longest, loudest fart I've ever heard come out of a girl. It smelled so awful as well. It was shocking yet hilarious at the same time, definitely one of my funniest memories from university. Such good times.

Is this The University of Oxford or is it Oxford University? There is, I think a difference. I am told that one is the famous old university and the other is a commercially founded college. The way into The University is to apply to one of the colleges. Each college is independent and their requirements for entry differ.
