Explanation for padlock circle. Every user of the area has their lock on the circle and they can unlock their own padlock, remove it and be able to open the gate. Possible use? For example, secured gates for a parking lot. Ofc every user should be instructed to not forget to put their padlock back on. Contrary, imagine if you had one lock with 30 exact same keys and one of them gets stolen - security is compromised. Then you would need to change that lock and make at least 25 copies and distribute all of them to users whom might be spread in different cities or even states. That would be major pain in a butt. Now in this case if someone lost their key, they just need to replace their own padlock and other users are unaffected in the process, their lock is secured.

The ranch gate with the lock disc is because every lock has a different key that belongs to someone. So everybody doesn't have to keep getting new keys for 1 lock to get on the land lol

@@chazw3x Correct! I saw one of these locking mechanisms when we rented a cabin on a huge piece of country property that had about 10 or 15 other cabins. When you checked in, you got a key with a number on it that matched a lock. During the day the caretakers would remove their main lock so that you didn't need to use your key, but at night if you wanted to come or go you had to use your key to move your lock out of the way to open the gate. You definitely have to put the lock back in and close the gate behind you, or everyone will know who left it unsecure.

At 21:21, the ranch lock hack. If you have a gate that has to be locked, but you need several people or crews to have access to unlock it, this is great. If the gate had one lock, everyone would need a key for the lock. Imagine you had 40 gates you needed keys for; it would get completely out of hand hauling those keys around and knowing which one fits a specific lock. So, if you were one of the people needing access to many locked areas, you could have all your locks keyed to your single key, and then you would have a way of opening your lock on any of the gates. If it's just two or three locks needed, we interlock them like links in a chain, but if you need a bunch of locks, that's not feasible as the "chain" would be too long. What was shown here is ingenious. If you remove your lock, the mechanism can rise up through the hole where the lock was and unlatch the gate.

The point of all the padlocks on the gate is so that outside workers, contractors, etc... can access the property. These are pretty common in the oil & gas industry. Many wellsites are on private property that landowners want to restrict access to for various reasons. If I'm not mistaken, having multiple locks instead of one lock with multiple copies of the key, helps with identification. Many landowners have such gates because workers & contractors have abus3d the privileges of being on the property. So if the landowner sees a gate left open or something else that shouldn't be, they can identify which lock was used and who had access to it.

The gate lock is for if you have multiple people who need access to the gate they can each have thier own lock and key. When they show up they can unlock their lock and the hold bar can slide up through the hole where their lock was. You can start out with all random unassigned locks to be sure there's no open holes for a stranger to be able to lift the lock bar and open the gate. Then assign spots accordingly. Hope that wasn't too confusing of an explanation.

I have a metal rod: metal chipsticks. 21:33 - I watch a lot of maker stuff so I think I get this. The idea is that they made their own lock wheel thing, and each person that needs to use the lock has their own padlock, alowing only specific individuals to unlock, and also allows you to identify which idiot left the gate unlocked. That's why the disk rotates.

For the gate, it can only open if the rod goes into one of the holes, fully extending the rod to unlock the gate are the lower portion. With each padlock through each hole, the hole are blocked, not allowing the rod to fully extend and open the gate. If you have been given access, you've been given a key to one of the locks. Find your lock, remove it, and push the rod through the hole, unlocking the gate. This is a genius way to allow only specific mutiple people access without everyone having the same key!

Ranch gate lock puzzle solution: the T bar in gate closed position is inaccessible unless you have a key for one of the padlocks . So when the or any pad lock is removed the T bar is able to pass through the hole in where the padlock was . As reason for multiple pad locks is I’m guess here that the field is shared over seasons ect ect so a lock for each user.

I have made eggs in the microwave using a glass measuring cup. You crack the eggs no more than 2 at a time, and cook for 1 min. Watch it as it grows, and when they reach the top, turn off microwave. Don't forget to use cooking spray on sides and bottom of measuring cup and mix up eggs.

It’s a style of lock where everyone can have their own key. You only need one person to unlock it to free up the hole to be able to open the gate. That way, if one person gets kicked out of the polycule, you don’t need to replace the entire lock.
