Great video .. My question with this is your main channel is well establish channel and behind the scences you tube knows this . How much do you think that plays in your reach when it comes to you tube pushing your shorts? Ive seen other channels do this and there short reach is also high.

Not only do shorts seem better for exposure, but for small creators I see it as the way out! (recently moved to shorts). As it removes the need for thumbnail / title worries as your short will be in front of people so if it's good it's good, first hurdle over. And they're substantially faster to create!

Great info Jeven. With inspiration from your videos on shorts several months ago I started posting shorts to my channel. I grew from 500 subs to just under 36k subs. I wasn’t even posting many shorts (only have 45 videos total, long and short). But some of my shorts reached well over 1m views. Thanks for all you do!!

Can i ask your thoughts on me having a channel that offers drone videos (avata 2 vids, occasional drone tips) + wildlife (showing off bears, my experiences camping in the wilderness) videos? i always say my niche is Alaska and posting everything it offers me.

All depends on your goals as a creator. As for a channel strategy that seems like different topics that will bring in different viewers especially Drone Tips vs Camping in the wilderness. However, it could work. Look at a channel like Becki and Chris. They have been able to encompass all their interests into one channel that is successful. I think this style of channel needs to hinge more on vlog content following the creator and then you can have more flexibility with the content

@@JevenDovey Yeah, i do enjoy the vlog style content. I'll continue with some ideas this year and see how they pan out. One of the frustrating things is on instagram, I'm known as a wildlife photographer and all my wildlife content does well. But on youtube, my wildlife content gets no traction but my drone videos do

@@JevenDovey I’m still a newb, but I know folks usually do a quick sound check before they get too far into putting together their content. What do you think about how much of a time it would be to do a video/composition check by shooting 30 to 60 seconds of video and then bring it up quickly in your editing software? This is why I love bringing my laptop with me on shoots.

Content matters most. Go back to what you’re creating and figure out if you’re making something an audience would be interested in. Look at what other creators are making in your type of content
