I’m a Senior, visiting my daughter in the US, and am spending lovely time with my grandchildren twins, it’s Winter so it just Snows and Rains, so no chance going out much,so what to do,eat & sleep and the Best part, listen to Beautiful Hindi songs, and what better way to do this, than listen to the Beautiful Soothing Voice of our darling Ameen Sayani and he gathered a beautiful bouquet of 50s,60s,&70s. Amin Sayani saheb , you have done great job by releasing 50 volumes of Geetmala. I was a great fan of Binaca Geetmala in 1980 but it was brodcast on short wave on Ceylon so it was difficult for me to listen. As of today, listening Geetmala, I feel as if I was reborn.

Top song of 1964 was Mukesh, s " Mere mann ki gunga.. " from film Sangam. 2 nd was Rafi, s song from same film " Ye mera prem patr.. '. 3rd was Rafi, s title song from film Mere Mahbub. As Amin Sayani accepted that senior music directors were un satisfied with selection of songs. It is evident that HMV preferred songs which were in its records. It preferred Mukesh, Hemanta, Lata and Kishore.

Till 50s 60s & 70s quality and talent was admired and accepted in the film industry as healthy competition was prevailing. When underworld entered in 80s into the industry we lost the charm of the music and film itself. 50s 60s & 70s were the golden days.

It's bn wonderful listening to melodies heard less often, but have been equally sweet to listen to. Unfortunate that in those days they got overshadowed by the popular, but not necessarily better, songs. Some of the lesser known music directors, who made excellent songs but cdn't climb the commercial charts of popularity, were also lovely to listen to...all, less heard gems. Thanks, Amin Bhai!!!

Hearing to Amin bhai is nostalgic. It takes me back to my Engineering college days of 60s. I didn't have a Radio. But every Wednesday night at 8pm, I would run to college canteen to listen to Bianca Geeta Maala. No body, make no mistake no one can get back those days. I cherish those sweet years spent in the college canteen with Amin Sayyani and the valve version of the Radio. I happen to attend a live concert some 10 years ago. I enjoyed it equally. I wonder as to why he didn't appear on TV shows? Thank you sir, for all the happiness that you gave us through your characteristic voice modulation and scintillating commentary. Long live...we love you.

I am observing since few years that outstanding movies are being made in India. Very near to ground reality, entertaining and all new actors are grounded and giving fantastic performance. This makes our generation 50' s proud and we watch with interest the outstanding movies. However simply listen to the songs here , we are not able to make music as good as the movies being made. I think we have enough talent to create music like it existed in the golden era ,which we are listening here

आकाशवाणी और एफ.एम.रेडीयोकी चलती अभी अभी याने इ.स. २०१८ तक थी। तब हमारे पास सिम्पल मोबाईल था जिसमे सिर्फ किसी को मेसेज भेजनेकी और फोन करनेकी सुविधा थी । तबतक मैं एफ.एम.और ए.आय.आर.के रेडीयोसे ही गीत सुने थे । जियो मोबाईल आने से मोबाईलपर गीत सुन रहे है । बिनाका गीतमाला बचपनसे आजतक सुनते आ रहे है ।
