Right Hasbro and Mattel have different versions. What I meant was, the gearing on the Hasbro animatronic one is quiet. I was pleasantly surprised it is quiet. Obviously the two are made differently but I figured the technology these days was advanced enough that making them quiet is possible.

He might as well hold a gun or drill when he does the force motion, because that's what he sounds like. Whether or not the motors and gears needed for walking are loud, I thought they could have done a better job with the stationary actions, in terms of the mechanical noise.

Unfortunately unless you have the ability to go to Disney directly and test them out before purchasing you will stand the risk of having it be shaky.

I got the other one that talks and blinks and his ears and head and arm raises. The biggest difference is how noisy yours is. The only sounds out of the one I have is cute baby sounds and giggles. No gear sounds. Mine doesn’t walk , but he seems more lifelike with the way he blinks and moves his head and ears. Also the one I have is smaller.I would say mine is the best one they have made , because he has more personality.

I too thought there was something wrong when he was ‘using the Force’ so went looking for videos to compare. The motion reminds me of the Shake Weight. The motor is excessively loud, not sure it was with the $98CDN. The smaller animatronic toy for $80 CDN is significantly quieter and has a better Force action.

I don't love THAT LOUD MOTOR, the hole in the back of his head, and wheel bottom. He really is a Dalek. SO VERY LOUD, what the camera is picking up. Not worth $70. Thank you for the toy review. Helps me make my decisions.

Comes with batteries because on the shelf it has an “attract mode” which is the “X” position on power switch. Mine does the same janky force action. I wish the motors were quieter. I figured we had moved past 1982 toy tech.

I have the Hasbro animatronic Baby Grogu. LOVE IT. The motor is not that loud, you can hear his cute voice much better and also the eyes are way more friendly looking and the open en close. I prefer the Hasvro version

That is in fact normal. As hilarious as it is, each child seems to behave slightly different. Some more .. animated then others. I would suggest to future Mandos to check each foundling out before you adopt one. I low key want to get mine a lil bongo drum.

I just got mine the motor noise is the same and the fast arm movement is the same. My husband has a theory that maybe they had a miss assembly issue and it might be on a lot of them maybe a gear inside isn’t stopping when it’s supposed to and that’s why it’s shaking so fast and odd
