Thank you so much for showing the routing!! I've been trying to figure it out and you made it so simple. Cheers from across the pond!

Great idea having two systems in one, so far I only have a catch can for my pcv system. I need to empty it every month or so. Mostly water from condensation in the crankcase, but definitely don’t want it getting mixed in with the combustion.
@InitialB Жыл бұрын
It took a while for me to get my head around it but it’s simple in the end. Cheers man. And yeah I think this is mostly condensation

I want to install an oil catch can from crankcase valve and head, but i plan to let oil catch can out to atmosphere, and for prevent MAP errors, gonna cap the inlet port which should be connected to valves, and finally the exhaust gas from the crankcase will not flow into the inlet at all, i plan to do this but not set yet, maybe you have some opinion to help about it? By the way, nice video made, it shows a safe way to make this system!
@InitialB2 ай бұрын
@@mr.sn1mperdcat276 I don’t see any issue with doing it to atmosphere the way you have described. I think because I had to option with my catch can to flow out I just used it.

Or just leave the PCV connection alone and just connect the valve cover breathers to the catch can. It's only the oil that gets sucked into the engine under boost that matters, and that all comes from the valve cover breathers.

Nice video, one of the easier set ups and installs. Quick question, on the drivers side breather, where the new pipe was fitted, what happens with the original pipe, is it capped off ? Thanks
@InitialB7 ай бұрын
Yeah if I remember it goes into the turbo intake pipe, that’s blanked.

Hey man from New Zealand here. Love your wagon. However more a fan of the sedans. What are the differences between rev a c b and d legacys. Have heard rev ds have bigger turbos and ecu is easier to play with on the rev ds.
@InitialB Жыл бұрын
Hi man , cheers. I had a sedan in the gen 4 and yeah they look great. The a-c have turbo differences with the C being the largest. The D has negligible difference in turbo size, although a tad smaller. But they come in better and have a better ecu. Also faster steering and a few other improvements. The front is facelifted on the rev D too.

How much oil can a catch can catch if a can can catch oil?

Any idea the proper routing for the oem twins?
@InitialB27 күн бұрын
@@gentlemansbusa2985 you can use the same, there is a two post outlet on the block which doesn’t have much room though and is quite brittle.
@gentlemansbusa298527 күн бұрын
@InitialB I see the 2 post with the 1 running to the pcv my question is would it be simplistic enough to put a can on each breather 1 on left and 1 on right. Then have a 3rd can for the pcv tube (all cans being a 2 port catch can?)
@gentlemansbusa298527 күн бұрын
@@InitialB I realize the idea of running 3 cans is silly but I just don't wanna have to reroute pressure tubes and what not
@InitialB27 күн бұрын
@@gentlemansbusa2985 I don’t see why you’d need three cans, the way the engine breathes hasn’t really changed with my turbo layout changes.
@gentlemansbusa298522 күн бұрын
@InitialB OK, honestly I'm a bit daft and I've come to exactly what I want to do. Run a 2 port on the pcv valve. My question is the port coming out of the engine (the 2 post where the top runs to the pcv) that would run to the IN side of the can and the OUT would run to the pcv side? I appreciate it sorry for the confusion >.>
@GaryWright-qt2dq Жыл бұрын
I think that's oil mixed with condensed water

what if I want to vent to atmosphere how do I go about that
@InitialB Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure how you could tbh, because the inlet draws the vapours out the crank and heads. I’m guessing for vent to atmosphere the heads could be open but you run the risk of unmetered air. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
