Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

Noah wait 3to 5 seconds give fish time to get lure then set the hook. You lose serveral because you need to stay calm wait longer for fish to get it. I understand the excitement but if you expect the bite and stay calm youll land it. Yes expect a fish every cast. Trust me this work. The shock and excitement you end up acting irrational.

Fletcher do what Noah he does move after 1 cast no bites. Noah probably learned from Legend Kevin Van Dam 😊❤ cover tons of water. Once you find fish use 4 casts with different retrieve speeds and pauses. If no bites or the bite dies down move spots. different retrieve speeds and pause if no bites in 2nd spot change rigs and lures. Another option you can use. 1 cast per spot to start. Once you find fish then yes do 4 casts retrieves different retrieve speed each cast and pause times each cast.
