*is scared of the archery course.* I am glad there are plenty of windows--i like one nice sized big window so you can look out at whatever the best view is. Open plan, mostly, it's such a small space to live in. Looks like you have your work cut out for you, but it sure will be good to be able to move in and stay warm when the snow starts to fly.

Definitely open plan loft style layout. Great idea to get rid of the wall and love the idea of a mezzanine for sleeping! Love you guys! A great team and so natural when you are talking to the camera. Who does the editing? Are the building supplies available close by? Will you rent it out when you are in your travels? How much land do you have? Sorry, lots of questions. Maybe I missed all that info in previous videos.

If you’re going to replace the roof, raise it up! Don’t worry about leveling the floor, just fill it in and build the wood floor on top of the fill. I’m not a builder but it seems would be much easier then digging out the rock.

My walls in France are 3ft deep and they heat up during summer, so after a few weeks of sunshine they are so full of heat that at night they radiate that heat inside 😢 It isn't true that stone walls will keep a building cool - not if those walls are in full sun for long hours every day. I recommend hempcrete on the outside of your walls and increase the roof overhang when you redo the roof 🤪
@Carla-vh6lz4 жыл бұрын
I suggest that you raise the pitch of the roof, which will give you a lot more space for your mezzanine level, and also more surface area to collect rain water.

Hi, watching as a local. I'd advise to keep the gas outside because you will be sleeping in the same room. There might also be solutions for the roof isolation. All the best.
@zantelion10524 жыл бұрын
Most of Europe keep the gas and boiler for heating on the outside for safety which is wise as I’m thinking you will probably have gas bottles rather than mains being your in the countryside? You could build an outside building where the tank could go in with the boiler and have solar panels on the roof of it,maybe the water pump and emergency generator could go in it too, make it part shed/ workshop !
@zantelion10524 жыл бұрын
Please consider the outside option, not to scare you but have seen too many houses and people killed due to gas bottles exploding due to poor fittings or gas leaks. You could also consider a wood burning heater that has a built in boiler system so you get hot water from it too
@robjopling15734 жыл бұрын
