What a wonderful tribute to the Santa Cruz Beach And boardwalk! The history is so amazing!

I grew up going here in early '70's. many home movies later. I have come back many times over the years. The smell, the boardwalk, the beach...it holds a very special place in my story. Makes me want to take a road trip up the coast :)

I hope it never changes. I love that place. I grew up there every summer in the 90s. I got to bring my kids there 4 years ago and it was wonderful.

My folks would take my sister and I there every summer, from 1955- 1959. I loved the boardwalk! One year, I think it was 1957, so I was 12, we saw the "Miss California" beauty pageant ! What a sight ! Especially for a 12 year boy ! Have many photos from that time. Great memories !🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊⛱️⛱️⛱️⛱️⛱️⛱️⛱️🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊🏊

Loved Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and San Francisco's Playland at the Beach. I remember going down to Santa Cruz in the early 1960's. There use to be a good Mexican restaurant on the main street right up from the merry go round building. My parents would take us there for enchiladas and tacos. Great memories of Santa Cruz and SF'S Playland

I rode that roller coaster over 500 times, many of them one after the other. We lived only about 4 long blocks up West Cliff Drive, so we went almost every day during the summer months. Still love that ride!
@jojovaldez27662 жыл бұрын
I got on that rollercoaster ride a whole bunch of times myself I lost track of the count afterwards I live about 3 hours North of Santa Cruz I m originally from Sacramento then moved to Elk Grove CA just 20 to 25 minutes from Sacramento Sometimes when I go on the Giant Dipper I could do a Dipper rally going on it repeatedly then get back in line and ride it some more til I get Dipper d out then probably have a beer or go on Fireball or any other rides then come back and ride the Giant Dipper again before the boardwalk closes for the night I love the Giant Dipper too and also love the lit up boardwalk during each night when I m there

@@bartonpercival3216 It sure is a lotta fun being in that Giant Dipper station when you re waiting for your turn you can see other riders have their turn on it and then as the line moves up you get to see just about practically everything Yes you could enjoy the sights and sounds the horn signal when you re in the car of the Giant Dipper...1 of the 6 cars of the coaster I even got a picture card from Screaming Images I can t wait to go back I m from the Sacramento area

@@jojovaldez2766 Yup I miss that place. It's funny reading your comments, in 1991 I use to live in Elk Grove and commuted to San Francisco 5 days a week to work. I did that for about 2 years, then I finally moved back down to the City in the Bay Area. That was such a terrible daily commute.

@@bartonpercival3216 Ay there Barton its me again I would go to San Francisco sometimes to catch some Giants baseball games and a few 49ers games too and my party and I sometimes would also go sightseeing in the town if anyone got hungry we would go eat at a restaurant. I would eat some Clam Chowder from a breadbowl Other times we might go to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or Great America s theme park after some of the Giants games when I was just a kid I m 55 now If you want to keep in touch I ll be here as a friend Take care Barton

I grew up going to Santa Cruz, it was fun then, my favorite was the tennis ball bazooka stand and the fun house .. water was always cold there. Went back 5 years ago and there were homeless people hanging around, gang looking guys lurking about, got a real unsafe vibe. I said F it, and got back in my car and left. The city has let the boardwalk turn into a shit hole and I won’t be going back...
