I feel like fascism was an expected reaction against the forces of classical liberalism and socialism that worked to dismantle the old European order, although fascism itself had many modernist ideals and beliefs when it came to race and nationalism. We must realize that in the end, what truly matters isn't ideology but that God is the most important, and it seems that all of the modern ideologies replace worship of God with worship of worldly things. Communism worships the proletariat, nazism worships the Aryan race, and liberalism worships liberty, individualism, and egalitarianism. All of these ideologies wish to create a heaven on earth through these worldly things but that will always lead to failure and is why they all have led to massive amounts of death and destruction. The best thing we can do for western civilization is reject all godless ideologies and instead learn from men like Saint Louis IX and Blessed Karl Von Habsburg. These men were moral and just monarchs who did not care for petty party politics or ideology but who rather served God and their people like a father would serve his family. Monarchism may not come back anytime soon but this classical conservative and monarchist philosophy would save the west.
