CD : "in science there is only validation and rejection" That's a very simplistic (and erroneous) view of the scientific method(s). Very often it takes years, centuries even, to evaluate data and arrive at a working theory - even then, acceptance is provisional and alternatives are always lurking. You are correct however about 'proof' : it is there in logic, maths and (if 'reasonable') law, it has no place in science. Unless of course you are talking about this stupid challenge, when what he means is 'convince me by making me run out of contrary arguments'. Interestingly, if I accept the challenge and use the legal definition of 'proof' - in a court of law - he could well lose. "Proof : 1. the effect of evidence sufficient to persuade a reasonable person that a particular fact exists." The only problem would be to find a reasonable person in Scotland. :=}

Well then, challenge accepted. Here are three proofs that you can verify yourself (as did I). All you need is a night sky and your eyes. 1. Celestial South. On Flat Earth, the sky is a circle / dome suspended above us and spinning around the center, which would be the Celestial North in the star Polaris. If you go to "South hemisphere" (Australia, Africa, South America, you pick) and look at the night sky, you should see stars moving faster and in very wide arcs, as the sky is spinning around the center far in the north. However, this is not the case. What you do see is the stars rotate around a point in the sky, towards the south. This is Celestial South. It's impossible with Flat Earth model, but is very much possible with Globe (Celestial North and Celestial South is where the Globe's axis goes through). 2. Moonlight This does not directly prove the Glove, but it makes some holes in the Flat Earth model. According to Flat Earth, our Moon is its own source of light. However, if you look at the Moon with any telescope (simple binoculars should do the trick), you will see its features (such as mountains and cliffsides) cast shadows on its surface. Moon as its own source of light cannot cast shadows onto itself. This means the Moon is lit by something else from the outside (which, in the Globe model, would be the sun). Too further verify that the Moon is lit by sun, observe it throughout a month and note how the shadows shift and change direction in relationship to the sun's position towards the Moon. 3. The Planets If you go to this website ( www.theplanetstoday.com ), right in the front you will find a model of the Solar system, displaying where all the planets should be in this model right now. You can use controls to fast forward and see how they should move. Now, go out and observe the planets throughout a year or so (quite often they are very easy to notice). Watch how their position among the stars and their brightness changes accordingly to the model. For the easiest target, focus on Jupiter, because it's bright and slow (and is quite spectacular to watch). Right now, you can see it in the early evening as a bright, slightly orange star in the south-west as the sun sets. In the following months, watch as it gets closer and closer to the sun (as we move further from it), until you can't see it at night. A couple months later, it will reappear in the east, making its way towards the center (between east and west, at midnight) and getting brighter as we're approaching it again, until it hits the peak in its brightness in slightly below a year from now. This proves a heliocentric solar system. Well, this was quite lengthy, but you wanted evidence, and these things you can check yourself without any tech that could fake it. It may take some time to do, but when you're done, please let me know where I can collect my £1000. Thank you.

Longitude and latitude prove a globe earth. The lines circle our planet. You cannot replicate the coordinates onto a flat earth map. Ever. When's a good time to stop by and pick up the money?
