The new Charger with the HellCat drivetrain and a 6 speed is rambunctious, and can be docile and show it’s claws but I have to give the nod on this one to “Wicked Dumbo” idk I made that up cause the name just fits! The lines of the 68, along with the exhaust note I prefer hearing more engine than blower whine IMHO, drivetrain is sick, and it has a manual transmission wrapped with wheel/tire choice, the stance and the low key interior hands down for me so many details, it just snarls at you when you grab it by the scruff of its neck. Truthfully isn’t that what a restomod is supposed to do just like a junk yard dog?! Both are so well done, thanks Shawn!

The current Hellcats are so impressive, but I have to go with the 68. My buddy had one back when he was a teenager in the early 90's that was in his family, his grandparents and parents both drove it at various times, and we got to roll around in that and hoon it up as teenagers. Yeah, it was a different time lol. It was epic, always loved those cars

I have a modern scat pack challenger with a 6 speed manual and I agree with you that a modern car is intoxicating. But I think if the owner of the 68 puts more safety equipment like harnesses like you said it would be an easy choice over the modern charger. Its just a sexier looking ride...

The classic 68 is the one for me! A couple of things im not crazy about but really love the car. Sounds amazing. The modern Charger is not my thing. Love the new Challenger tho. It really captures the 70 Challenger look.

1968 ! You will not see anything like it at the red lights or car shows, and it one of a kind. I have a ZL1/1LE and a 1972 chevelle with a LQ4 that's getting twin turbo set up, 6 speed magnum etc,etc. The ZL1 comes out twice a week on average, the chevelle once every two weeks, I can find another ZL1, I don't want to, but the chevelle is hard to come by and I love both my babies. But I don't won't ethier of them to be run over. I have motorcycle's also. Gotta go don't tell my wife ! 🤣

Yes, what you have here are 2 special cars smiles and smiles to go. The Dumbo Charger is nice... but like you I also would want high back seats with racing belts... for safety that just makes sense. The power that both make is just plain amazing..... you got to drive them and that makes you the lucky one......

You got that right brother, my dad has a 2019 Charger RT Scat Pack with the 392 Hemi V8 in it with 485 HP and 475 Ibs of Torque and man its a beast.

I would choose the 68 even if didn't even have a motor. The fact that it has 1000 hp helephant!!! I don't like any of the blue accents though. In my mind a 68/69 charger only comes in black or orange " General Hellephant"!!

I'm going to have to agree on this one. Both the new charger and Dumbo seem like a daily-able fun. Dumbo is a great build but that grey kills it for me. That shade spectrum of grey mutes the badass body lines on the car in my opinion. For that reason , I'm going to have to go with the new one.

I own a stock 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440 manual and a 2013 ZL1 manual with 957 whp. I took them both out today and even though I don't have mods done to the Runner, it stills does well with the 440. They both have their own personalities,. What it comes down too, is what makes you happy? That's why I have one of each! I'm blessed to be able to own them both! Great content. It can definitely be very difficult to choose for sure! ✌️

There is one HUDGE problem with the modem Charger that Chrysler hasn't figured out, it's a four door! For older gear heads like me the new Charger will never be a cool hotrod because it's a four door! PEACE ✌️

I had friends that had the old ones when they were new and for the next few years. It is beyond cool, but I am going new school. I still ride motorcycles and believe me there is nothing I love more than new school for drive ability.

Love both, and I feel the 68-69 Charger was the best looking muscle car ever built, but I'd go with the modern one in this comparo for one reason. I feel the wheels are too big in diameter for the car. Too much wheel and not enough tire. It kinda messes up the look from different angles and such.

Man, I'd love to have a '69 Charger AND a 2022 Charger Hellkitty Widebody! I don't care how many modern Chargers are out on the road... the Widebody version is so freakin' menacing looking and they just have an incredible eye catching presence about them! The '68 Charger in this video sounds simply incredible! Although this car looks like it's nicely built, and I definitely love the engine, I'm just not too crazy about the overall aesthetics of it. The paint color and those black wheels just doesn't do it for me. It's still a bad-ass car, though.

I would say that the old cherger with that shelf on the back fender and pillar. The wide body shelf. It just squares it off like expensive crown moulding it is staged. It also adds to my imagination how easy it would be to chop that roof off and how nice it would look. Is like a dumbo millennium falcon.

Is the modern charger CA smog legal because if and even if it is I would always take a '69 charger w/a hellaphant engine for the win. If the modern charger is CA smog legal expect to see some more duplicate cars like this of people who have watched this episode.
