I had to put double clamps on all the boots. Ol 12.7 with a tune, cam and turbo will pin you in the seat.

@@lilcandsally3943 Yes, in most instances where modern diesel engines are used, they are more environmentally friendly. They carry more payload per vehicle while burning less fuel, and they have lower emissions when all of the emissions control equipment is installed. But none of that applies when you decide your dick isn't big enough and remove the DPF, weld off the EGR, and put injectors so big there isn't enough oxygen that can possibly be pulled into the engine to burn all the fuel. On an engine that will NEVER pull a load a day in its life, no less. Soot is a known carcinogen, even more so when it's mixed with unburned diesel fuel. A diesel engine's pitfall is extremely short travel distances, generally 5 or fewer miles. At that distance you're better off with gasoline engines or electric, which is even better suited to grocery getting. Heck even a Gee Wiz could pull it off well. Even if carbon is "GoOd FoR tHe PlAnEt" it''s still hazardous to breathe in, and that's not accounting for the NOx, unburned fuel, and carbon monoxide that gets thrown out of the exhaust with all that soot. America needs to grow up and drive an actual vehicle.

I got my Freightliner to make lots of hp/torque like that and found out that smooth application of the throttle was very important. One time I twisted the input ahaft of the tranny, exploded the clutxh and xhipped gears in the tranny. But having all yhay powet was so much fun.

Im normally in a fld 120 with the 12.7 detroit. I love that motor. But shes currently parked waiting to get towed to the shop. Shes pushing oil through the exhaust which is messing with the compressor and air tanks and putting oil into the fuel tanks.

Always liked those FLD's but they did always seemed to have issues with the front ends and easily developing wheel "hop" or a bad shimmy, if the steer tires ever started "cupping out" at all on the inner or outer wear bar tread.

@@raseri9 12.7 60 at 650 horsepower makes 2050~ . The marine application 60 series pushing high horsepower and a torque up to 2400 foot pounds. You can get a lot of power out of them but parts will degrade faster

Hey bud I took a couple of easy shots at ya bro but in all sincerity you need to go through that truck if you plan on racing it. It shakes, rattles and the wheel is trying to shake out of your hand. It ain't all about hp. You can get down a 1/4 in the same time with 600hp as you can with 1200. Those wheels will only roll so fast at the same rpm. You'd have to change rears to get any more. You need to go thru chassis replacing bushings and steering components. At 2000 rpm in high gear ur gonna run the same mph every time, it's all about how quickly you get there and it don't take 1000hp to move a bobtail. It's all good tho man just stay safe and get that slop out the chassis that truck is gonna r
