@TheRallyfan88 Back then rallies had much more stages than they have today. The drivers started early in the morning and stopped many times late at night after hundreds of kilometers driven. I'm not sure how many kilometers they drove overall here at 1000 Lakes but it was much much more than today.

@skipzed No they did not in 1986. After Henri Pauli Toivonen died Fisa made a rule that 600 kilometres was allowed as a limit to Special Stages. In Completly 1986 1000 lakes had 389,97 kilometres of Special stages. 85 on first day, 170 on second and 135 on last day. And in 1986 even if it was B-group race the driving was done by daytime. Although the last day began at 5am. 1985 The second day was long trough night. From Jyväskylä to Hämeenlinna and back to Jyväskylä. Trough night.
