1000 miles in a McLaren GT through SNOW, FLOODS and TUNNELS !

Not every week you get to use a McLaren GT as your daily. Thanks to McLaren New Forest I ran one for a week and did over 1000 miles. Little did I know what horrendous weather I would have to drive through. Floods, gale force winds and snow...the McLaren took everything in it's stride ! I even broke the windscreen !!

Fantastic review Pete, one of the best I have seen in a McLaren, well done :-) Great to see a supercar used in the real world and it proves they don't melt or burst into flames. What you filmed is how 99% of McLaren drivers use their cars, trouble free! And you didn't succumb to the usual click-bait mentality of other youtubers, many of whom have no real experience of the brand, so I take my hat of to you. 'My McLaren blew up' is how many non McLaren owning youtubers title their content when a car they were a passenger in has a puncture at 27mph. Thanks for resisting :-)

Great video. I live in Canada but learned to drive in the snow in the Peak District as a teenager in the '70s. I took my family there for Christmas in 2009 when there was a huge snow storm. We had a rental VW Passat wagon with 4 wheel drive. I thought we would be OK but was the worst driving experience of my life as it had low profile summer tires on it. Absolutely useless! I couldn't get it up the hill to my parents home (Park Rd. in Buxton). Had to leave it at the bottom and walk up with our suitcases. We just have front wheel drive here with mandatory snow tires and never have a problem, but then we generally have snow on the ground from December through to April. Keep up the great work, really enjoy your channel. Cheers!

That was perfect conditions for a real world test, but snows would have been the way to go on that messy day ! What a fabulous car and the pano roof made the filming so bright to watch and enjoy. Excellent review, all the better for having Mamma Petrol Ped in it, albeit briefly. I admire your self-sacrifice driving this car in all weathers just to report back to us peasants... As I've said before this is the only McLaren I'd have and after this I want it even more. To be honest sir Pete this has been my favorite video you’ve ever done it was epic. The car was awesome and sounded fantastic. The snow part did make me laugh cause I live in Michigan USA we’re a foot or more snow dosent make us think twice. I even drove a Chevy Camaro for a entire winter lol. I never cease to be amazed at the drivers that speed past in poor conditions, and like you will comment to my wife they must have special vision. It’s even more worrying when very snowy and you are on winters and someone (probably on summer tyres) bombs past😳 Mac unfortunately have once again over produced the GT and more registered as demos by factory and dealer than customers and lots of unsold cars! sure values will bomb these will be a great buy around £100k😉

The McLaren 675LT Spider is THE SUPERcar to have. McLaren went overboard launching the LT sub brand and the first road going LT version is something special and to behold. Over 50% new parts on the standard 650S car it was based on. Better than a 458 speciale Aperta in every conceivable way bar the N/a sound and yet less than half the price which is crazy value at todays prices. Its a guaranteed future classic and you need to think early Ferrari low volume limited edition cars to get a comparison of the appreciation that will behold the car as the brand continues to grow exponentially. Grab a 675LT while you can as they are disappearing off the market and as only a finite number of 500 were made worlwide the prices are only going to go up as less and less are available. Personally I would have a MSO Napier Green spider

Initial range reflects local “town based” test drives. I know, if I’ve been driving round town and then fill up to drive the 100 miles to my parents I use 20 range. You really did put the car to the test! Great video. You’ll have to see if you can borrow the car again in better weather.

Hello pal. Hello Momma PP bless ya. I’m 45 lol. I love that roof panel. Stunning. The weather that weekend was just nuts. Lmao at the guy in the snow remark. I just spat my coffee out, quality. It’s a hell of a car to be driving in the snow, insurance clenching butt action guaranteed. The tyres on the Jag are rubbish when cold, Eagles on the rear. Even on a normal 15 degree day, they don’t fill me with confidence. I prefer the Continental 5’s. I’m impressed with the mpg that you have achieved. You sure took that car on some varied surfaces. Any news on trying the next gen Rs6? 32mpg is astonishing.

Hi Pete, Many congratulations on 50k subs. Wont be long before its 75k, I’m sure! Warming to the GT, but feel it would be so more at home on fast European roads rather than those of our overcrowded, over-surveilled little country? You took Harwoods at their word and have certainly given the Mac a decent run out over the week. Your face was a picture when you were driving in the snow, it must be said! The one you had may be the only Mac GT that has ever turned a wheel on snow and in totally torrential rain! As for the k@#&*%+=ds in 4x4’s speeding in bad conditions, I view them all as organ donors and stay well out of their way. Great to see Mama PP again.Still sharp as a tack. Yeap, you need to watch the SatNav as it will always take the shortest route which can often mean tiny B roads. I use a bit of common sense and if entry looks narrow I just press on, and turn later... the SatNav always catches up quickly. For sure, I’m a bloke so haven’t read the instructions 🤫 so I guess there is an option to opt for certain route types🤨. Same used to happen in my wife’s old Disco Sport and a Jag F Pace so it’s not unique 🤓

I would question whether the crack on the windscreen was the result of a stone chip. I have heard that McLaren's have a design issue with windscreen cracking. Also pity you can't get it with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist for long distance driving, and a couple of small back seats would have been nice!! That aside what an absolutely fabulous looking car both outside and in. This car deserves to be a real winner for them, and a great real world review from you!

I was feeling very nervous for you during your run through the "snow storm". Conditions like that can be more hazardous than a proper snow fall with temperatures hovering around the freezing point. You did alright in spite of that mess. I imagine some of the other drivers in the tunnel enjoyed the sound as much as you did ... ;)
