Can you make a video about making a pitch bender? Maybe with a linear potentiometer? I'm new to DIY synth stuff or any electronics tbh, so I'm curious how could it be done? Also if it should be 1k instead of 10K, so the signal goes from the 10K pot meter to the 1K assuming it will just "bend" the note and not entirely hcange it to 1 hz to 25000 and further. Anyway, probably I was writing a lot of nonsense, but I'd love to see something similar. :D

Crazy Idea, what if you set each of the 100 oscillator stacks to a sequential tone in the harmonic series and had a level control console for each of the overtones... since tons of juicy tonal sounds we know and love can be accomplished with different resonance levels of the first 10 overtones (1000%100=10) you could make pretty much whatever instrument sound you want.. your museum guests could participate too.. you could probably cook up some way of changing pitch as well as making juicy never-heard-before instruments.

I agree. The oscillator on its own is awesome, and I love the spinny thing with the guitar and the pedal. Together I'm not so sure, but there were some awesome sounds in this video.
@SyrusRayne
@SyrusRayne 3 жыл бұрын
@@225Perfect I do think the in-built tape compression's working against the fullness of the megadrone, but I like that messed up growling anyway. But like LMNC says, you could probably get that sound with way less oscillators. It definitely shines with the guitar, and has me wanting to build one of my own.

The belt driven thingy hooked up to the guitar sounds like a Leslie unit. Put a foot pedal to control the rotation speed, and you could get some cool effects, much like a Leslie, but with the potential for new stuff.

Wherever these sounds come from are where I want to spend eternity. Use VHS heads for the mobile head AND the stationary ones....and gratuitous quantities of tape, both for looper/delay (several, that can be triggered at will/staggered in timing) and of course for the actual tracking/mastering. Add liberal doses of Eventide Space on Black Hole and Drivedoom....FOOK MI this is nice....

1) I think it sounded better than you were letting on. 2) kudos for putting up something that you thought didn’t work out so well. When you’re experimenting not everything goes the way you expect it and that’s ok. It part of fun and learning. Bonus) showing people how to take the disappoint of an other-than-expected result in stride is freakin fantastic.

Showing the experiments that don't quite go to plan is great, this shows newcomers trying things out that there is a process of refinement, it doesn't always work perfectly and if it did, you would likely miss interesting avenues along the way. Well and truly in line with the the whole assertion that you shouldn't be afraid to have a go.
