£1000 spin rod for uk seabass - Zenaq Snipe 78xx
Zenaq produce some of the highest quality hand made japanese spining and casting lure rods. They are aimed at those targeting tropical heavy weight coral bruisers like GT's.... but their lighter flats rods are perfectly suited to UK bass fishing.
In this video i will be giving my first impressions and review of the - Zenaq Snipe 78xx

Thanks for the video, it helped me when I decided to get the S78XX.I don`t want to be disrespectful, it`s just the Proprietary Guiding System is called RG system and the Guyids are SIC on Titanium Frame. Apologies if my comment is innapropriate. It`s is an amazing rod, my 4th Zenaq RG.

In Thailand we have to preorder Zenaq rods and it takes months to get one. I got exactly the same model but with the normal guides. The best rod ever.

Hi mate, I know what you mean, I did buy this rod lightly used second hand (which reduced it to less than half price) , so I am happy to run it through its paces!

I was in the market for a new bass rod… this zenaq came up on a lure group and was nearby. I know Zenaq from Australia (being half Australian) so I rolled the dice… glad I did!

@@theoccasionalangler6956 zenaq is good, but very pricy. Yamaga is less cost, lighter and performs just as well or better. I think for the Price of a zenaq, you May aswell go for custom.

@@ferst5937what would you recommend equivalent specs in the Yamaga blanks range to the Snipe in this video?
@zveryok1
@zveryok1 5 күн бұрын
@ronmb81 Yamaga Blanks are amazing but they are much softer rods. You aren't really going to find a direct comparison to this snipe rod. This one is much stiffer and designed more for bottom baits. Yamaga is more for moving baits. The closest would probably be Calista 79MMH / AG.

@ronmb81 As a side note, there are many Japanese rod companies that every bit as good as Zenaq and are more popular domestically in Japan. If you can get your hands on an Abu Garcia Powerfinesse 7'10, you will be amazed at the sensitivity and power that it has. Incredible rods. Steely but ultra sensitive. I've got a 8'4 RealFinesse that's using the same blank process but is a bit lighter. Even this rod has lots of reserve power. G-Craft makes some great rods. Xesta. Even Majorcraft top of the line stuff is quite good. Much more reasonable pricing too. There's a reason why this brand is the most popular one in Japan. In my eyes, nothing beats a Gloomis NRX rod. The most sensitive and reliable rods ever made.

High price doesn't mean a thing, and certainly not high quality..... it's more a hype than anything else.

Possibly, without a doubt you pay a silly premium for those 3 words “handmade in Japan”. I actually bought this rod lightly used second hand which bought the price down significantly to less than half price. Regarding quality, there is something quite special about the feel of this rod, without doubt there is hype, but something does separate this rod from the pack

I suppose all carbon fiber rods are made the same and are handmade. Of course, products made in high cost countries would include higher labor costs. Personally, I had sub 100$ and 200$ rods which felt and performed better than 300$+ ones.
@theoccasionalangler6956
@theoccasionalangler6956 Жыл бұрын
@@kamarte there is no doubt manufacturing rods in Japan due to labour cost, will increase costs. That said there are vast difference in quality of different carbons and construction techniques. There is a noticeable and significant difference in character between lower end and high end rods from my experience. Ultimately they both function well and will catch fish
