Great job recording the joys of a sunny few days of this harvest. It reminds me of the sunny evenings spent forking up small bales with a fork.... 9 high with riders.

Hello from QUEENSLAND, for those that don’t know the reason for the raking before the baling is that with the ground so wet the hay will have absorbed moisture overnight or since the last raking, you shouldn’t bale damp hay as it will more than likely go mouldy and thats not good. The sun will have heated the soil up and the moisture evaporates into the hay. Ben certainly loves the new Kramer Telehandler.

Hi Evie, it is definitely a family affair bring in the straw. Yes, it's a bit confusing for us too, one minute silage then straw. At least it hasn't rained and your were able to get it all in the shed. So thats a couple of big jobs out of the way for another year. Your nephew is very inquisitive and checks everything out that's happening, I think he is a budding dairy farmer of the future. Thanks for sharing. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.

Nooo not for our job it. Its too soft and doesn't chop in the feederwagon therefore the cows can sort through it and leave it. wheat Straw breaks down and mixes in well.

Still not answer my question????? Why don’t you let your cows out on the grass fields…. If it wasn’t for them cows you have note love!!!!! So let them out being in a shed 24 hours it’s not good for them cows. So be a real farmer and let them out!! Everyone else let there cows out work more harder and you guys do!!! Plus you get better milk 👍🏻
