I've had the Techroad for two years now. Very economical. Only complaint is the EDC transmission indecisiveness. Especially between gears 1 and 3.

Yes, I am so glad to see this, I have complained to Reno few times and they kept saying it just like that, also the engine is loud when driving.

I want to buy the 2013 model second hand model, I just want to know how expensive it is to maintain. I don't earn alot of money but I have a wife and kids and the car really appeals to me.

Think just Google Maintenance of the car you want from previous owners. They will tell you the honest truth on whether it's cheap or expensive to maintain

Although it must be good, I don't trust the vehicle's economy calculator. Can you please test that. My 2010 RAV reads typical 8.7 l/100km but in reality it is a shocking >10 to 10.4 l/100km

Petrol RAVs are pigs on fuel. 10km/l sounds about right.

I got the 4x4 zen model 2022, still new but I'm getting 5.5l/100km thats like 900km on 50l. there is no SUV that comes close to this. the Ford everest and Toyota fortune minimum will give you 9 to 12 l/100km. so for me cheap to buy cheap to run cheap to insure as you know thieves like stealing those other SUV to much

I was getting the same fuel consumption reporting. Then I started running the car empty, filling it up and recording L and Kms and calculating it myself because I was filling up too often. Actual fuel consumption is closer to 7l/km. You have probably noticed fuel consumption does not go down on highway, ask yourself why.
@LekaLEL2 жыл бұрын
@@commentperson3100 that's your case, remember fuel consumption is driver style dependant and area. I drive alot of open roads and free ways with almost no traffic and a short 15km sand road daily. Worse i got was 6 l in auto mode .

I just traded in my Duster 4x4 Zen and honestly I feel sorry for the dealer. For a car that cost almost R400k it had way too many cheap touches. It was good off-road, but terrible car for city driving, gear shifter slipped all the time, engine always straining, inaccurate fuel consumption reporting on the onboard computer, tinny chassis, styrofoam and plywood in the boot and spare wheel well. And the interior that never stopped squeaking, rattling and buzzing was what did it for me. I now get angry if I even see one of these cars. Stay away.

Great one! A lot of older people I know over 38 who I came across that own this diesel rave about it’s fuel consumption. I mean it’s excellent. My polo vivo 1.6 highline 2021 can cover about 400km with only two bars gone off fuel range averaging 120kmh. With the current situation I would definitely consider this duster seriously I’m all about efficiency. Was this the 4x4 duster or normal 4x2 you tested? Would be good to see it’s ability off-road which people also brag about 🫡🙏🏾👌
@SwitchOffSouthAfrica2 жыл бұрын
It was the 4X2 version hence I didn't do any off-roading. Hopefully in the near future I will get the 4X4 one and test its capabilities
@commentperson31002 жыл бұрын
Fuel consumption reporting on my car was inaccurate, reporting 5.5 L/100km. When I calculated mileage myself it was between 6.6 and 7l/100km. And that was driving the car like a granny (which still somehow made the engine sound strained).
