For their name, they are from a village called Chiliomodi, and Greek for 1000 is chilia. It's kind of like if a band from Elevensville called themselves 11vil.

The lead singer plays a Rickenbacher and wears Motorhead T-shirts. I found them through KZbin 4 years ago. Im in my late 40's and grew up on Cream,Sabbath, Motorhead, Slayer, Metallica. 1000Mods is my current favorite band.

If you haven't heard of Kyuss, 1000mods get their bass and guitar sound from Kyuss. Kyuss pretty much originated the stoner rock sound. Even the vocalist of 1000mods sounds like John Garcia of Kyuss

YASSOU! I married into a half-Greek family so they get a good chunk of points from me just for that. Unfortunately, I did not find myself too endeared with this song. The intro was way too long for me and the vibe just never grabbed me, even though the bass line had its moments. I feel like they downed at least a full bottle of ouzo before they recorded this....or maybe that's what I need to listen to it??? I don't know.... Pass the pita and hummus!
