A different, incredible adventure, crossing the lakes and forests in the north of Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada, in the company of moose, bears, black bears, wolves, beavers, otters... all the great fauna that inhabits these immense forests, lakes, rivers and streams. Five days that were the hardest to date in my adventures, due to lack of experience, not having anticipated the harshness of the headwind or the rainy days, with an initial forecast of just over 80km that finally resulted in more of 100, adding the double portages. Fortunately we were conservative in our planning and abandoned the initial idea of adding Nipissing river, which would have resulted in an almost certain abandonment, which we almost made effective on the second day, as we almost capsized the canoe due to the large waves and the wind, images that we could not collect since we were not there to start recording. We were lucky enough to see a beaver, two moose and many more animals. We left without hearing the howl of the wolf, but knowing that it is there, along with the black bear, makes the adventure take on a different, more real dimension.
After the experience, we do not rule out doing a project again combining hiking and canoeing, it is an adventure with capital letters!
We thank Algonquin North Outfitters, they were very kind to us and advised us very well with the gear.
