Hi Hylians! I just wanted to add a mistake in the video. It's a mistake, but not really a mistake. Without going into details, Lynels do not upgrade depending on how many you defeat and how many divine beast. Well it does, but not exactly that. Each enemy you defeat will add an invisible counter. each enemy has their own individual number. When you reach a certain number, enemies will upgrade. Lynels, and Divine beast just have a big number =P I hope this makes sense! =) You can watch this! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIipqmusbtihnNU

That's why I use Lynel Bows. They're the bow equivalent of shotguns...especially the x5 variety. Just aim at the general direction of the Lynel's head when they get close. (Fairies and Mipha will help you get the hang of this, as a Lynel drawing close means that they're coming to hit you. Don't panic, and watch those Crushers!)

0:36 the level of Lynel actually depends on the World Level mechanic. Every time certain enemies die, they add a certain amount to a hidden tally that upgrades certain enemies. Certain enemies don’t contribute at all, like Red and Blue Bokos/Lizalfos/Moblins and their Stal equivalents, Chuchus, Keese, Stone Pebblits, and wildlife like foxes, bears, etc. Because the Blight Ganons contribute so much to the World Level, they give the illusion that beating a Divine Beast automatically upgrades enemies.

Amother trick, when you dismount them, they run in the direction they are facing. This is the order: Dismount > they run away > they return but not attack > they run away again > they return to attack. If you dismount them and run away, you have a chance to autoaim with your bow, and hit them in the face when they are returning but not attacking. If you hit them, then you run to mount them again and repeat this process. I ended up using like 25-30 arrows and not a single durability point out of my double handed sword. Although I did break my soup pot shield...

Here's a tip to interrupt a Lynel that has his bow out and drawn arrows ready to snipe you. If you can quickly use stasis + on the Lynel and quickly use your own bow to hit the Lynel anywhere on it's body not just including the face of course, it will be staggered temporarily after it comes out of stasis +. You can then walk up to the Lynel to force it to change to it's melee weapon where it can be scuessfully hit in the face again to stun it to where you can do whatever you want to damage it.

2 more things to add on to this great video: 1. I'm pretty sure that you can't stun the lynel by shooting its face if it has its bow out. you will do extra damage, but it won't stagger. It has happened to me but I'm not 100% sure if this is true. 2. After the lynel roars to perform the fire slam move, a more bold player can run right up to its face and shoot the lynel right before it attacks (in the face to stun). This is because there is a crucial moment where the lynel is stationary. However, if you miss or don't make it in time, chances are you'll take massive damage from the attack. Thus, you should only try this if you know what you're doing or if you have means of revival/many hearts. Hope this helps!

Furthermore, in expert mode, against Golden Lynels, an explosion attack will cost you at least 28 hearts even if your armor gear is at 60 (ex. fully upgraded barbarian gear). So consider turning mypha’s ability on and bearing fairies or it will be instant game over. :) UPDATED However you will be able to survive a lynel explosion if you have a 88 armor combined with LVL 3 protection+ with only 4 hearts (you suffer 26 hearts of damage) Damn! (Without the LVL 3 protection you die)

another thing if y'all were wondering, while a lynel is building up any of its fire attacks, if you shoot it in the face as shown it can negate the fire burst and stop the build up from happening, also stunning the Lynel.

You can also shoot them in the face before they do both their fire ball attacks since there is a pause when they’re still while they’re charging up. This allows you to stun them and jump on their back. If he’s doing the explosion like fire ball attack and you’re behind him you can shoot him in the back of the head to stun him but the hit box is a little hard to aim at with him mane covering it.

I once shot him in the head while he was charging at me too, which does seem to have too many benefits since it’s really hard and the furry rush is easier to do and does more damage. I don’t really care about weapon durability since I just kill more lynels whenever I’m running low on weapons.

If you consecutively parry the fire balls and get close enough(like in front if his face), the next parried fireball will recoil the lynel. Just a useless info considering how you can just shoot em in the face but pretty cool to pull off just for fun! Based from my experiences with lynels they only do a 2nd AoE attack when they're half way through their health and the best ways to deal with this move is to stasis then hit em to knock em off of their AoE attack but if stasis is still loading then the next best option is like in the video, parry! Still unsure if they can do more than 2 AoE attacks in a fight. I think i've had a lynel that did 3 in one fight.

The first time I even encountered a Lynel it was the silver one in the coliseum. I stood on the highest level where it couldn’t detect me, lured it out with remote bombs, and picked it off with arrows shot from a phrenic bow. It took thirty minutes and all my arrows. I’ve since learned this is neither the easiest nor the right way to do this.

They’re pretty easy to beat once you know most of their patterns. I mostly die because of get greedy damage like using my arrows against him until i get punished for it. You’re main uses is to use parry and dodge and use the strongest weapon when you mount a lynel for extra damage. Or you can take the easy way out and just use ancient arrows on them although you wont get any items from them (understandably) At the end of the day, I’ve grown to enjoy fighting them. I feel like they’re very fair and all of the damage you take happens because of your mistakes. And you always get rewarded if you dont use ancient arrows. They’re challenging but very fair imho

While the Lynel charges up an 'Explosion' (as i call it) a bold player can parry the attack, or shoot it in the face, also, for Crusher Lynels crouching next to them makes them do a spin attack, go underneath their bellies, go in for a counter attack, parrying/flurry rushing just kills everything, everything you know is usless as long as you just flurry rush everything, i wish this video wasn't made years after the game came out.
@HenrikMyrhaug
@HenrikMyrhaug 4 жыл бұрын
It is important to note that in order to get a flurry rush you have to jump while the lynel is swinging its weapon towards you, not to actually dodge its weapon’s hurtbox. You can get cut in half and still get a flurry rush and take no damage, and you can dodge its weapon perfectly and not get a flurry rush. This is because in order to dodge the weapon, you need to jump before the lynel is in its attacking phase, meaning before its weapon has an active hurtbox. This will not grant a flurry rush. In order to get a flurry rush however, you need to jump after the lynel’s weapon has activated its hurtbox. When you do this, the game grants you a flurry rush and turns off the hurtbox of the weapon, allowing you to get hit while in a flurry rush without taking damage. This does not protect you from other enemies’ attacks, however. The goal of a flurry rush is not to dodge the weapon, but rather to jump while an active hurtbox exists. The flurry rush timing is completely whack, but once you learn how it works it becomes quite easy to pull off.
@tims_adventures
@tims_adventures Жыл бұрын
That explanation genuinely helps so much. Im able to pull them off a lot but not consistently and the timing always confused me because i would dodge before they started to swing thier weapon and miss the attack but not pull off a flurry rush. Hopefully i can pull it off more now

I've always had a rough time engaging crusher-armed lynels using crushers myself. Nearly every time landing one or two hits on him, even with jump cancelling, there's just not enough time to switch to shield to parry their horizontal spin attacks. Occasionally, on certain positions close to the lynel I might receive a light hit which lets me remain standing inside its spin and thereby avoiding its usual blow-back hit that attack is meant to deliver. I haven't pin-pointed that yet. Anyway, if I can just squat underneath it to avoid any hit altogether, that's cheesy but I'll take it.
@PKshockwave
@PKshockwave Жыл бұрын
So, it's a pretty rare attack to happen, but all lynels also do the leaping slam attack. It's a bit dependent on the terrain, as if you move the fight to areas with a bit of verticality, it's a bit more likely to happen. The crusher lynel becomes extra dangerous as the aoe on the shockwave is massive and shatters shields instantly
@KingKP96

I think the biggest issue a lot of people have is similar to the issue people have when fighting Souls bosses. It's a big intimidating monsters that can hit you hard for a lot of damage. It's very punishing if you do get hit and therefore most people just end up afraid of fighting. With enemies/bosses like this you need to remember that it all comes down to pattern recognition, reaction, and experience. You obviously aren't going to be crushing them on your first attempt, but that's why it's important not to be afraid of them. Fight big scary things, get killed, learn, come back stronger. Most scary fights in games can be broken down just like the Lynels where they have a few unique attributes/behaviors and a set of 4 or 5 attacks. Once you figure it out you're golden! Definitely respect enemies and bosses and the fact that they can destroy you if you don't know what you're doing or you're overconfident, but don't be afraid of them.

What bothers me so much about the lynels is how underwhelming the ACTUAL bosses are by comparison. But then I suppose that's the bosses' fault. Then calamity Ganon is so tough that he makes you wish you were fighting his 4 blights at once instead.

I agree the bosses should be tougher (including overworld bosses, they are a joke but still get a boss healthbar) but if they were as hard as gold lynels then casual/younger players couldn't beat them. I think in master mode and the champions trials they should be buffed even more so that everyone can beat the game but if you want a real challenge the bosses will give you one. But even in normal mode Ganon should be harder, even in my first run when I couldnt beat Lynels I forgot to put on real armor and defeated him first try in the sneak armor. That shouldn't be possible...
