Some are faster (Thunderfingers), some are techically proeficient, some are even "virtuoso". But, music is not about speed or technique. And nobody, really NOBODY, makes a bass guitar sing, really SING, as Sr. Paul McCartney - the MASTER of Melody!!! Macca bass lines are songs within the songs. Rain, Something, Hey Bulldog, I Want you (She´s so heavy), Dear Prudence... only some examples of what I´m talking about! Go and listen his work carefully. Then you´ll know... That´s why someone (Lefty Bassman) made this vídeo about the 101 bass lines (and he forgot some) of The Beatles! What other band has 101 bass lines worthy of it??? Most of then don´t even have 20 worthy songs!!!...

@@LeftyBassman even though I am primarily a guitarist, I played drums in a Beatle band so I can appreciate this; my band didn’t try and look like them; a 5 piece more like The Fab Faux; the bass player was the leader but didn’t sing; the guy that sang Paul’s vocals played percussion; we broke up when he left; to quote Mr. McCartney “I have the best Beatle band and ya know the hardest one to find is the Paul”
