Soo cute with the blue lipstick at the end! I love, ADORE the ice cave with the attenuated blue, I was so glad you moved it out of the way, worried that it was very vulnerable. The big one looked great before you did the balloon flowers, but then even cooler after that - you can do no wrong! re: Alizarin, from a Donovan song a million years ago, in which he named a few colors (think he went to art school like so many of those Brits did!), he mentioned "al-iz-ar'-i-an crimson", putting in an extra syllable, so that's how I've always thought it was spelled/pronounced, until I actually saw it in print (when you showed us your paint tubes!). It was a delight to wake up this morning and find this video, I always check first thing if I didn't find one the night before...Thanks, Karen!!

@jonnylumberjack62235 жыл бұрын
who is Christine?! :)
@WaterfallAcrylics5 жыл бұрын
Hi. Christine....Karen LOL I’ll answer to almost anything. I have a dedicated table (dead LEVEL) that I put the art on. Then I use solo cups to surround the paintings and put a couple pieces of large foam board on top of the cups. Then o cover the whole thing with a large plastic tarp so no air or dust gets in. I take the tarp off periodically to let them breathe for a few minutes. Most are dry within 3 days.
@mikeswain90855 жыл бұрын
Thank you Karen, your help is really appreciated. When I did single paintings I put them under a large upturned storage box. Now I'm doing paintings more often, I was looking for ways to let them dry and keep them as dust free as possible.

Sorry, me again, hope I'm not boring you! The 'stained glass' effect that you love - try using white enamel paint, Mely D was (I think) the first to use it in her pours and quite a few of us have been experimenting with it after seeing the effects it gives. I've managed to get a few really nice pieces using it - I would love to see what you could do with it!
@jonnylumberjack62235 жыл бұрын
Also, I think you might be me. Jilly Cooper wrote a book years ago that had a character in it called Alizarin. I read it as AlizaRIN (he had red hair!), same as you pronounced it. I knew it was a colour of red, but it came as a great shock to me to hear the correct pronunciation on a pouring video on here. I still prefer our version :)
@WaterfallAcrylics5 жыл бұрын
Ooh I’ll go look for her video and give it a try! Thanks for the tip!

@@WaterfallAcrylics she calls it the cloudy effect. which, it kind of is. but it is difficult to use words to describe all the effects, you really have to see it. I just found your channel yesterday and have watched more than a handful with pleasure, but since you beg to be corrected on pronunciations in this one, I am prompted to note that the general rule for German words is that when two vowels come in sequence, the second is a long sound, so the paint brand Holbein, sounds like "Holbine" to rhyme with 9. Meanwhile, responding to a different video, I like your thoughts of writing down a compendium of flow-pour test results, hopefully to make a video report. A further direction could be to integrate pouring styles into parts of landscapes or abstracts that also use brush or palette knife. One question: why use heavy body paint when the goal is to pour? In closing to this hodgepodge commentary, thank you, and I wish you the best!
@WaterfallAcrylics5 жыл бұрын
Rosa Rebada Thanks for the German pronunciations! I use Liquitex heavy body as the range of colors is superior and I don’t mind the extra mixing.

I really liked the big one at first, but I really love the remodel. The small one is kind of mystical looking....I hope you realize you've created a bunch of Waterfall Acrylic/Karen addicts. We usually check KZbin once a day for a new video. Or if we're really needing a fix, perhaps twice. Then we get excited like we've gotten a personal present to open. When you ask a question, we answer. If you ask our opinion, we give it. When you get cranky with someone making an idiotic or rude comment or you have a bad pour, we sympathize. This particular addict saves your video for the end of my KZbin session - like desert. There certainly are much worst addictions, so I'm happy with mine!
