Greetings from Canada! I'm LOVING these old Corrie episodes!!!! I didn't start watching the Street until the mid 80's. I was a faithful watcher until around 2015 or so. It started getting so stupid, I couldn't stand it any longer!!! Pity, really.

I like what Ena did in this episode, shame that the Gypsies were treated like outcasts, like they have all throughout History. BTW, the actress who played Annie Walker was in reality was very leftwing - great actress.

3:47 - one of those ubiquitous bentwood chairs that everyone had back then...most of which were unceremoniously burnt over the following decade after some 100 years of sterling service. (Really solid furniture - good in every way - better than 1960s/1970s junk!)

I personally thought it set in 1983 when so many fine actresses and actors left the show for one reason or another. Especially when Ms Elsie Tanner left, after Hilda left in 1987 it just went downhill.
