1020HP PLAID + SNOW STORM + YOKE STEERING!! 🤪

TEST DONE ON CLOSED ROAD, DO NOT ATTEMPT IN REAL LIFE!
Road closed before an avalanche triggering, thanks to my friend Pablo who let me test on this road before the work :-)
The car from my opinion is a bit less fun than a Model 3 performance in these conditions, offcourse the weight of the Model S and the super wide tires doesn’t help!
But for a 2200kgs car it is very good! Only little understeering and the car rotate well as you can see
Unfortunately even with track mode and full esc disconnected the traction control still have the control when you push 100% the throttle which is a shame
Car spec
100% stock tesla S plaid on 21inch oem wheel and Michelin ALPIN 5 (who gone already couple of time at 300KM/H :-)
Track mode activated
Tc off (-10)
70% rear 30 % front
regen 100%
confort steering
plaid engine mode

Looks like a blast. AWD FTW. I destroyed the exterior on my old STI once I finally caved and started having some real fun on dirt and gravel roads. lol, totally worth it. Going about one hundred MPH totally sideways on a long gravel sweeper is a hell of an experience. Snow and ice are a blast too. You're gonna love this thing once the weather warms up.

Ce n’est pas la meme route 🙂 La finition pour ma part est suffisante et surtout mon auto a été bien assemblée, pas de jour au niveau des porte ou mauvais allignment des feux, elle est niquel….pas le cas de toutes les plaid livré malheureusement 😢

Yoke is stupid. It’s so dumb that Tesla is now retrofitting yokes with a real steering wheel for $700. The demand has been so high, it’s sold out and will only be available March 2023.

@@devaannamalai I have been driving with it for a year and a half and I love it. Have you tried it? Do not think about manipulating it "just as if it was a round wheel". It is very effective with easy technique. Just watch this video from Sebastian. Why? It has benefits that require experiencing and appropriate study.

@@izsakitt3711 yes, I have been driving it for a year and more. It’s not a natural shape for effective driving. Can you train yourself to get good at it? Sure, however 90% of the folks would find it inconvenient and really not worth it. (Yoke is definitely not fit for one hand driving either).

TC could be a little bit less restrictive for sure but with a 1 gear car that could reach 260+ kmh delta spin in that lone gear...it does make sense... I guess with wheels spinning so fast there would be so much inertia when coming off the throttle that it would be very very hard to control.

yes the only way is to disconnect the abs sensor just behind the front wheels, but we need to remove the entire wheel, so too much complicate and also we loos abs...

99% of all people would be absolutely terrified to do this drive! LOL How do you find the Michelin ALPIN 5's in the snow...looks like they are not too bad?

You can find better tire for 100% snow like Nokian, but the Alpin 5 is great on every way, even top speed, rain, dry etc

the yoke is completely ok, only the turn indicator at some point is a bit tricky, i will never trade my yoke for something else in this car 😊

@@JCviggen1 it really depends on where you're used to grab the wheel. If you look at my videos while drifting you'll realize I never use the top part of the crown.

@alfo40 Because it can be done doesn't make it a good solution.. in fact its a solution looking for a problem 🤷‍♂️ I've done lots of drifting in the wet or on frozen lakes and in no way is a yoke the best type of steering wheel to do that with.

Getting lots of comments that the yoke is "dangerous" and "utterly crap" in an emergency situation. This video seems to contradict this, as well as the fact that I've always learned in skid classes that you should only make small corrections to avoid overcorrecting. What is your opinion on the yoke in emergency situations (blow ,out tire, for example)? How would it fare according to your experience?

I understand that as a spectator far away from the car. But being inside the car in that moment is visceral white knuckle experience. Especially with the rear wheels sliding up a freaking Mountain. Sure BEVs are boring if you've never been in one driven in anger and just looking from far away. But once you've experienced it properly, sorry MOST ICE cars are boring even the loud ones.
