I think it is, and through this method we can give exactly what nutrients the plant needs.

You should try Turface. It has almost the same properties as Leca.

Use any hydroponic solution not just plain water. I’m using General Hydroponic Flora Series.

It depends on the plant, growing conditions and the time of year. It can be once a month to once every 3 months. Flowering and growing need more, dormant needs none. You also have to be mindful you’ll need to wash the leca from once a month to once every 3 months to get out the excess nutrients, minerals etc to prevent nutrient blocking and harming the plant with harmful minerals like salt
