I like the design, engine choice, everything in the engine room and the crew quarters are nice and roomy, now I'm sure all the exploring is being done in white silk suits and the white furniture in the salon is going to stay WHITE for a very long time, one small detail, it needs a lot more pillows, sitting on a couch with soooo many pillows is just sooo comfortable as anyone knows. Stylish is one thing, practicality is another, don't get me wrong if someone would give me this explorer yacht I would take it and use it the way it's intended, just change most of the furnishings.

@grondhero3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Personally, I feel that 8 crew is the minimum needed, which usually is acquired in the 150'+ range. I did watch a series on *Aquaholic's* channel where they chartered a yacht with only two crew. They seemed to have done a fine job, but man did I feel for the crew (both were probably 40ish).

I noticed in the running shots that the bow looks like it wants to dive down kicking the stern up. It doesn’t seem like it’s riding level. Maybe an optical illusion, but a ship at this price should never have the bow wanting to dive down.

Shekon - different style yachts and the FD102 is about $3m more in price for a GRP boat. We just delivered one to a client and price was roughly $13.5m with options. The 32XP has a range that is about double and is meant to cross oceans. The FD102 would be more of a coastal cruiser....different styles of use.

This is the second time in less than a week that I've heard someone refer to something as a bulbous bow that is most certainly not a bulbous bow.
@grondhero3 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about a bulbous bow, but even the web site refers to it as a plumb bow. ;)
@rustythrombosis54173 жыл бұрын
You can see the bulbous bow if you look closely. The way he said it was peculiar, though. "With her deep draft and bulbous bow below the waterline combined with...". Maybe if he said it like this, "with her deep draft and below the waterline bulbous bow, combined with...", it would’ve worked better. I think "below the waterline" was the operative phrase because bulbous bows are normally slightly above the waterline, or at least until the ship is loaded. Just my unprofessional opinion.
@FlesHBoX3 жыл бұрын
@@rustythrombosis5417 Interesting, I didn't catch the "below the waterline". Also interesting that it's below the waterline. The function of a bulbous bow sort of relies on it being at the surface. Maybe the hull is designed to lift at the bow to bring it up to the proper position?
@alexgclarke34393 жыл бұрын
The bulbous part of the bow is located right at the water line and is designed to increase comfort & fuel efficiency. The design of the bow is a plumb bow, the bulbous section is the lower area right below the water line so the bulb is actually the first part of the vessel moving water when underway
