C.S. Lewis was my literary hero through most of my teens and he's still a favourite. The Narnia books were my childhood, and the Space Trilogy made me think more than almost any other book I've read. Everyone should read them. Edit: Also holy shit I'm just finishing the video now but the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel is such a good series!

For a Book for people who like Twilight I would definitely recommend Interview with the Vampire. It’s not a romance but It focuses a lot more on what it means to be a vampire. This is me trying to convince you to give us more Taylor Swift based recommendations, it'd be my wildest book dreams come true. I can't wait for enchanted books that will make me feel, happy, free, confused, and maybe even lonely, in the best way. I know all too well that a few sad prose will probably make my tears ricochet, and reading a book that's extremely sad beautiful and tragic is a very treacherous slope, but it probably won't be the last time I begin again the cycle of heartbreak. To make a long story short, it's nothing new. I'm so looking forward to books that make me feel like I'm reading in a cabin by the lakes, wrapped in my cardigan, the floors of a cabin creaking under my step as I watch the wisteria and ivy glisten outside. I will only have closure when this video is released. I'm sure all the recommendations will fill a blank space in my bookworm heart, and stick with me forever and always. HAPPY RED SEASON!! 🧣I'm not willing to admit how much time I spent on that cheesy mess. Dedication. Please pin this 😩

It really amazes me and blows me away how much memory capacity you have for recommending so many books and being able to explain each and every one of them because damn i can't even remember what i read a minute ago 😭😭😭 thank you for such a lovely vid!

You really have a great handle on literature. I mean, zooming back from 2 years in the future I know this, but each video just really cements it. Nice job, Emma!

My take: 1:10 a book that feels like warm covers when it is cold outside: House in the Cerulean Sea 1:32 found family comfort: still House in the Cerulean Sea, otherwise the Harry Potter series if you haven't read them 7:06 lesbian romance that awakens butterflies in your stomach: best I can do is the Life is Strange Before the Storm, that's a video game, tho 16:03 a book for your very last day on earth: oh dear. Are you okay? 19:41 a book that reminds me that we aren't bound to a physical and earthly existence: Under the Whispering Door 24:53 a book with characters who become your best friends: Idas Dans (Norwegian-language) 25:43 a mystery where the investigator who is not a detective or a police: the Girl on the Train. Highly recommended. Wonderful flawed protagonist. 32:26 a book where the house is also a character: An English Ghost Story 32:33 a book for when you want to delete all your social media and disconnect forever : The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon (yes, I know it's Stephen King, check it out anyway) 33:00 i am moving to Canada / a Canadian book: Alaska, not Canada, but The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah comes to mind. Be warned it's a pretty tough read, though. 34:42 a book with a cat: A Street Cat Named Bob 36:02 something melancholic and character-driven where nothing really happens: This One Summer. Give it a read. It's a comic, though. 40:45 a book about a.i preferably where they don't turn evil: Klara and the Sun 41:05 a book with the eccentricity of the Weasley family's home: closest I can think of is Pippi Longstockings. Maybe Under the Whispering Door works, too.

I lost the video I was watching yesterday, about the review where you mention the 2 separate versions (both novels) of The Phantom of the Operah. I really like you compare and contrast review of those 2! Loved your commentary! Please don't stop. You are so thorough, creative, scholarly, intellectual and above all, kind and noble with your reviews! 🙏🏼💯👏👏👏

Oooh, I have a few food fictions recs for anyone interested (they’re also in my TBR so if anyone’s read them lemme know how it went!): Cake by Maira Kalman, Midnight Chicken by Ella Risbridger, Recipes for Sad Women by Hector Abad, The Vegetarian by Han Kang, and (if you want to rethink what you put in your mouth) Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica. Some non-fic recs: Sous Chef by Michael Gibney, Taste: My Life Through Food by Stanley Tucci, and Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer

My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki is also brilliant food fic!

Tender is the flesh is on my tbr but isn't that a book where cannibalism becomes the norm and people are just casually slaughtering humans or something? Lol correct me if I'm wrong but I would not suggest that as food fiction then lol!

A book that kind of revolves around "food" is The Monk of Mokha... it revolves around coffee. But the entire story is about coffee - reviving the art of coffee production in Yemen. It's nonfiction yet reads like a fiction story - incredibly gripping! Highly recommend ☕

Hi Em, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos. I put them on in the background when I have a lot of work to do for uni (right now, help.) and I feel a little less like dying. Your voice is so soothing, it makes me feel better. I'm glad you're getting more recognition and subs because you hella deserve them. And I'll try to get to some of these recs during Christmas brake!

Atonement and Emma are two of my favorite books! I also loved If I Stay and Before I Fall in middle school. That really took me back! For a book that's like Twilight rec you have to read Crave by Tracy Wolf. Audible recommended it to me after I listened to Midnight Sun and I was skeptical, but now I'm almost done with book three and totally hooked! I will say that while the story is great, the love elements are pretty cringe and some of the characters in books two and three have accents that the audiobook narrator tries to mimic that are um interesting. Thanks for another great video!
