When Honda designed the AWD viscous back in the 80s for the Civic Wagon's with only 75hp at the flywheel, I bet the engineers there never even contemplated that those parts would eventually handle 1000hp at the wheels in 2022. 😂👍
@RagingBullNuts
@RagingBullNuts Жыл бұрын
IMO Hondas Engineers are so Nerdy, that they did calculate how much power it could theoretically hold lol. They probably factored in people actually doing some light off roading and decided to make a strong component.
@MafiaboysWorld
@MafiaboysWorld Жыл бұрын
@@RagingBullNuts Dude, during that era, ONLY their F1 motors that Senna and Prost dominated with in their McLaren MP4/4's were even close to being in that 1000hp power range. 😎 Also, AWD Civics weren't built or even considered to be off-roaders. 😂 They were econobox's, period. 😉👍

@@MafiaboysWorld Japanese engineers usually design with extreme situations and abuse in mind...said an engineer who worked with German and Japanese engineers/designers. Or, you believe the capabilities of all the old Honda stuff is just a coincidence. If any of that tooling survives, Honda should should re-stock those diffs, that would be fantastic.
@jesusguerrero8790
@jesusguerrero8790 Жыл бұрын
@@MafiaboysWorld your correct about them not having any high horse power vehicles but your wrong that they weren't calibrated for racing or off-roading. If you watch Honda Documentaries then you would know that they perfected the perfect short base-length awd for hatches, they also created the most shiniest and weightless paint. The engineers at Honda were given one job, but they always slightly made it into other tasks. If my memory serves me right they purposely overbuilt the F22 ( Honda engine that comes factory sleeved) but limited it to a whopping 104 horsepower, but if you would add bolt ons, keep stock internals and a Turbo kit, you could possibly make around 450 horsepower to the wheel on a car that is as light as a feather.

I was a a local car auction yesterday and while I'm not really into Honda's, I couldn't pass up on what I found. Picked up a 1990 Civic hatchback, never modified 100% bone stock, 1 owner, very minimal rear quarter rust, factory sunroof, 5 speed & has 83,946 miles. Runs like a dream.
