Under Landry, there was a lot of tension and there were players who hated him, but for more than 20 years, there were winning seasons with 5 trips to the SB. Bobby just clearly has a pathetic axe to grind....is it not fair to suggest that if Dak had actually stepped up and played just good, not even great, ratter than poorly, we might have won one of the 49er playoff games? It's a combination of bad coaching and bad ownership. Coaches feel they can't coach because they can't implement their philosophy 100% and the owner can't have a coach bigger than him. I always felt that McCarthy was average as a coach because he got run out of GB for this culture. But he is certainly not to blame for the dysfunction of this organization.

Ya’ll need to grow up and realize that there are TWO SIDES to every separation or dissolution. Mike McCarthy isn’t this perfect coach everyone wants to make him out to be. Yes, the Jones family has culpability, and has made mistakes when running this team, specifically with coaching hires and personnel decisions. But the FACT remains. Mike McCarthy ran Amari Cooper, Kellen Moore, and Dan Quinn out of Dallas. McCarthy and Dak don’t get along, and McCarthy is an awful play caller and gored some awful coaches. He is not the victim here. Stop reaching for “low hanging” fruit, and being lazy with your opinions. McCarthy’s rack record speaks for itself, ie. When he left Green Bay, and now Dallas. His best years as the head coach were when Kellen Moore’s system was installed, and when he CLEARLY took bits and pieces of his system and called it the “Texas Coast” Offense! Let’s not start with Dan Quinn and how much better our defense was when he was here. Quite interesting that both Dan Quinn AND Kellen Moore are both having success now. McCarthy isn’t the hero EVERYONE wants to make him out to be. The Jones’ aren’t perfect and can be frustrating, but McCarthy misrepresented himself from the beginning, and clearly worked to sabotage others in order to have control and keep his job. Everyone forgets what Aaron Rodgers said about McCarthy, and dismissed it because Rodgers is difficult and a bit of an egomaniac. Doesn’t mean he’s a liar! Good riddance McCarthy! Kellen Moore for HC, and a seasoned OC, ie. Shottenheimer, with Witten on the staff. Al Harris for DC! Let’s move into the future and stop with these old school retread coaches! Let’s take a chance. What do we really lose by taking a chance!
