This piece is inspired by the new pigment from ColourArt named Hot Tamale. Such a beautiful color that it could carry the entire piece without much other help. Love love love this pigment color.
Pouring Medium: Behr Deep Base 8300 and Minwax Polyacrylic in 2:1 ratio
My cell activator (the black paint at the end): Proportion of Floetrol, paint, glue all and Minwax wood conditioner is 4:2:2:1
Base coat: 8 parts Walmart interior paint with 1 parts GAC 800 and 1 part floetrol,
Acrylic paints used: Gold and copper by Artists Loft.

Sharing your work is amazing and I have to tell you what has happened to me because of it. I am not artistic. I see black when I close my eyes and the scientific side of my brain is way more dominant. Somehow, I found out about fluid art and I love it. But, because I’m not artistic, I prefer to do the technical part up front and then let the paint tell its story. I’ve never wanted to change the painting by adding another pour or modifying it in anyway. And then I was so inspired by the beautiful gem series that I did a pour and put some swirls and circles in it. It was fun! I used to always doodle during school classes when I was bored. This was like doodling in color!! Then I did a ring pour that was very boring. Most of the colors had disappeared and I was left with a 2 color ring pour, so I began to doodle. And it was fun!! I’ve done one or two others and now I’m addicted. I have to be careful to keep my skewer put away so I don’t modify everything. LOL. I think I’ll be doing a lot more of these! Thank you for teaching me to doodle in color!

Again, I absolutely love this. And copper and hot tamales are incredibly beautiful together. Out here not far from where I live are the ‘painted mountains’. This painting reminds me of them so beautiful especially as the sun goes down when you have the brown and red layers, bands of rock that become the copper and hot tamales in your painting.
