When I watched the Pinky POV episode I also got the impression that the gene splicing actually made both mice geniuses. Brain is a typical Einstein type genius, while Pinky is an artistic creative genius. While Brain is great at engineering, math, and hard science, Pinky would be incredible at creative writing, music, and art. Pinky is not stupid, rather his mind is always wondering with creative genius which Brain leaves very little room for when he dismisses him as a simpleton.

I agree. If Brain wasn't so dismissive of Pinky, and got him to focus on a "take over the world scheme", I'm pretty sure they would succeed at taking over the world. Pinky's creativity, the Brain's intellect, it would be a dangerous combination!

My family had basic cable or the antennae when I was a kid in the 90's. So considering that this was WAY before we had decent cable tv with the glorious multi channels, I was happy with what I watched as a kid. ^^

@@CooperGal24 Same! Even for the 90's, we had more than just the 3 basic networks (ABC, NBC & CBS) when then new Fox network got started! Eventually leading to the successful launching of even newer networks like both UPN & The WB Television Networks; 2 brand spankin' new networks premiering in the same month of the same year, in 1995! Each new network, including Fox, housing their own share of kids' programming respectfully! Talk about humble beginnings!

6:43 I know this video was made 3 years before the reboot, but in the reboot it is stated that he wanted to take over the world because of a traumatizing experiment they performed on him which led to him wanting to be the one in control, not them. Honestly, can’t blame him.

Aaah, the silver age of animation, how I miss you. When you made pop culture refrences, you didn't need an entire episode to explain the joke (like making an entire episode dedicated to an old PC game, The Oregon Trail). Not a single forced storyline to be found that end up going nowhere (while present, they weren't AS frequent as today's story arcs in cartoons), and of course, an unforgettable cast of characters. Tho, The addition of Elmira was a sign of things to come in animation...

The "Yes Always" short from Animaniacs was based on the Orson Wells outtakes. What you missed though was that Maurice LaMarche would quote those outtakes whenever the audio engineers needed to check his mic levels at a recording. As a joke/homage to him they wrote the "Yes Always" short for him. Coincidentally, they recorded that episode right after Sam Kinison, a close friend of LaMarche, passed away.
